It has a pump that pumps water from the front resovir and it doesn't pump all the time, just when the front resovir gets to a certain level and it pump's for a few seconds at a time in which it will pump to the top of the back coil. If the filter in the front resovir is stopped up? It will cause the unit to shut off and show FL. I bought a soleus 8,000 BTU and had to leave the drain open with a bucket underneath it. But it cooled the living room off so good that we bought the 10,000 BTU with heat. That's when I took the top and front cover off. It had alage built up and found a paper label. But after cleaning the front resovir out I turned it on and I could see water running through the hose. I could hear the pump come on and shut off. Going to put the other one in a different room.

Q: What does code FL mean n what should i do ive only had in use about 1 hour

“FL” means bucket full, please use the drain port located at the front left to empty the extra water. This will rarely occur unless the humidity is very high when using the unit.
