Simple and effective
I installed this inline in the trans oil line on a large Hayden plate and fin cooler with a fan. The fan is switched to a relay via this thermostat. I have an MSD device that reads all the available sensor data, and trans temp is one of my selected options. The thermostat is supposed to come on at 180 degrees, and it actually comes on at about 183-185. This is surely because the sensor and the thermostat are at different points in the trans fluid, hence the difference in readout. This is a simple install, and it works as indicated.

Worked great

Seems to work fine if you follow the instructions
It says to use a dab of thread sealant on the sensor, I did and it's not leaking at all. It also says to use a relay for fans over a 10 amp draw, the hayden 526 cooler I used draws about 7-8 on startup, so I used a relay to be safe.

It works fine if you know how to wire it correctly.
It works as designed. If you try to wire your fan directly to the switch it will burn out very quickly. I ran my switch through a relay to power the fan. It has been working fine for three years now. I put a small bead of anaerobic sealer around the base of the threads to prevent it from leaking.

Junk. Leaky and to fragille.
Can't find the in-between tightness so it doesn't leak. The probe broke off in one simple turn.

Great item if you need it
Transmission hasn't overheated yet, since it is out of sight, can only presume that it is working properly as it is only needed when Transmission fluid overheats and kicks in auxiliary fans. Installed as precaution for when towing RV.

Works well
Would work great, but I did not need this. The transmission already has a thermostat on it

works perfectly
very easy to install since it uses AN fittings and will just run inline of your hoses. The body is brass with a thread in thermostat. I used a small dab of JB quick to make a permanat seal between the thermostat and the body. Will defiantly use these again!
