8BitDo Retro 18 Mechanical Numpad, Supports Calculator Mode, Bluetooth/2.4G/Wired Numpad for Windows and Android - M Edition

8BitDo has produced a phenomenal keypad! Super fast connection, Bluetooth connects super easy and the numbers project flawless. The keypad is aesthetically pleasing to look at it, it captures the retro vibe perfectly. It also has a calculator mode. Now I wasn't sold on the idea at first but wow has it come in handy!! Super easy to toggle on and off. Has a bright red button for it. And for the most important question? How does it sound?? Sounds are like 1980s arcade machine. You can not go wrong with this keypad, 1000 percent recommend it.

I don't own the keyboard that goes with it. Did I need this? No. Will I even get much use out of it? Probably not. Was this an impulse purchase? Absolutely. And yet I kinda love it? The keys are tactile, the text is bright and legible, every switch and button feels high quality. The bluetooth, attached dongle, and USB-C port mean it works with basically anything. As a stand alone calculator it's going to be accurate and comfortable if you ever need to do a lot of math for any kind of paperwork, and as a numpad for your PC it's excellent. The only thing that feels like kind of a flaw is the button to open the calculator app on your PC where a numlock button would have made way more sense in my opinion. But there is a hotkey method to activate numlock (hold CAL and press C) and you can rebind the calculator input in your OS to something more useful so even that isn't a hard flaw. All in all, if a chunky retro style calculator sounds like something that would tickle your interests or you just need a solid numpad for your PC or to go with the 8bitdo keyboard I think this thing is excellent. I don't regret buying it.

Really cool device and the keys are great, but the thing seems to fall asleep after 5-10 minutes and then has to be turned off and turned back on to work again. Happens in wired mode and in 2.4 mode. Works fine for a few minutes, then the computer stops getting the input (standalone calculator still works but the computer doesn't receive inputs). I will probably end up returning it if I don't resolve the issue soon. Edit: I figured it out and it was my fault. The USB port I was using had some power saver settings or something. Plugging directly into motherboard fixed the issue. Very pleased with the product so far.

No complaints. It's well-built, the switches feel good, it matches the keyboard, and the 2.4ghz connection is really fast and reliable. It's nice that it also works as a calculator.

Compatibility: I was impressed with how easily the 8BitDo Number Pad synced with my computer. It works flawlessly with Windows, making it versatile for different systems and tasks. Whether I’m working with spreadsheets, entering data, or performing quick calculations, it has been a reliable tool. Battery Life: Battery life has been great so far. I haven’t had to recharge it constantly, and it lasts long enough for several days of use without issues. The battery seems efficient, and I haven’t noticed any significant drain during extended typing sessions. Price Caveat: The only downside to the 8BitDo Number Pad is the price. It’s a bit higher than other number pads on the market, which might make it less appealing for those on a budget. While the quality and performance are excellent, the price could be a barrier for some. Still, if you need a durable and efficient number pad for regular typing or data entry, it’s a worthwhile investment. Final Thoughts: Overall, the 8BitDo Number Pad is a great addition to any workspace. It’s reliable, comfortable, and efficient for typing tasks, especially those that require frequent number input. While it’s a bit on the pricey side, the performance and build quality make it a solid choice for anyone looking to enhance their productivity.

Very high quality product, the finishes and attention to detail is beautiful. I really hope this aesthetic of translucent products catch on again. A ever so slightly warm backlight would be nice under these keys. The numeric display is well tailored though, readable in daylight but also not too overbearing in the dark. Honestly I cant express how pleased I am with this device, such a pleasure to look at and I really love that it comes with an old school looking cable too. 10/10 PS: If you need to enter a negative number into the calculator, press the minus key, enter number, press minus again which applies the negative sign to the entered number, then you can key in the actual operative like add subtract multiply etc. This is not mentioned in the manual (Negative number, calculator, negative sign, minus sign) I never write reviews I'm just so stoked on this thing and I really want companies to make more products in this translucent matte plastic. Bring back the colorful iMac era of product design pleeeaaaase

You can get the 8bitdo keyboard as a full-length board these days, so it really isn't required to buy this anymore. The reason I did anyways was for three reasons: 1. This has a small, subtle magnet that helps it sit beside the main keyboard, and the two pieces sit pretty cleanly beside each other so there's not a noticeable difference. 2. Because of this, you can have the comfort of a full keyboard with the added convenience of being able to relocate the numpad elsewhere if you'd like, which makes it more versatile for different purposes. It supports bluetooth and also comes with a USB dongle (with a built-in slot for it), so it's very convenient. 3. I just think the little calculator screen is so cool. Buy the full keyboard version if you want to have a more normal keyboard experience. Buy this if you want to be able to type 80085 on your numpad and have it show up in little glowing LEDs. You know what to do.

So I use a number pad for gaming as I am a south paw. Most number pads are not very good quality or feel good in the hands. This one is Excellent. Nice response time. Occasionally I do run into the pad switching to numlock on during a gaming session which is odd because it is two keys you have to press and hold but it might be the laptop or OS that is doing it.

Curioso, muy curioso y atractivo, tener un teclado numérico mecánico, al más puro estilo retro al que nos tienen acostumbrados desde 8bitdo. Tal cuál sucede con el teclado mecánico del mismo estilo, sorprende desde que lo desembalas. El tacto es perfecto, los acabados premium y de una sutileza increíble. Funciona tanto por BT como con 2.4GHz gracias a su adaptador USB. Y lo más curioso, es que funciona tanto conectado al PC, como independientemente, como calculadora retro... Simplemente increíble! Indispensable si te pillas el teclado del mismo estilo pero en formato corto. Me encanta! Altamente recomendable, sin duda alguna.

Initially purchased because I replaced my keyboard with one without a keypad and now absolutely love this one. Battery life has been incredible, only needed to charge it once since purchasing. It's got a great tactile feel to the keys and the fact it can be used as a standalone calculator by toggling the power and pressing a single key is great. The standalone calculator isn't going to blow you away for complex functions (your phone will do a better job than that for sure), but for the retro feel you really cannot go wrong. The fact is is USB-C for charging too is a real bonus.
