MSR90U Magnetic Strip Card Reader 3 Track USB POS Magstripe Card Reader for POS System Cashier Registry,Plug and Play, Black

I got this for my store invoicing system and it works well. Simple and quick setup and detected by windows without any additional driver downloading.

The reader is very light weight plastic. There is very little too it. Under windows 11, it worked in most apps but there were odd buffering issues in some situations Under Windows 10 and Linux, there were no problems. Read accuracy was good but not perfect. It does read either direction but is not a fast reader. It was not hard to swipe too quickly, or insert the card mid way or lift too early. The reader would just beep and spit out whatever bits it read. The led lights just stay lit so there's no indication if a read was good or bad. Since there are no included instructions, there's no way to know what the lights are intended to do.

This magnetic stripe card reader worked out of the box without having to install any drivers. The housing of the card reader is pretty much plastic but it's built pretty well. It's not heavy at all.I would highly recommend mounting this so you can easily swipe cards without having to hold onto the reader.The beeping is a little loud though. The red and green lights stay on at all times, which is a bit odd and unnecessary.There were no instructions included, only the card reader itself.There appears to be some screw holes on the bottom and you can use them to mount them somewhere possibly.Overall, simple to use. A better way I plan to mount this is using velcro. Overall, simple to use, no instructions really needed.

This magnetic stripe reader works well for my needs. All you need to do is literally plug it in and swipe. Couldn't be easier.

This Magnetic Reader is made out of Steel or Construction grade aluminum, very solidly built. I tested it on several Bank Cards and some other personal cards with Magnetic Strips- It Read every one! Showed my name and Card number, expiration date and some other gibberish that limited credit to $9.99 for obvious reasons. No, it really did a great job. It did not read any of the Cards with 1D or 2D OCR coding. I did not have to do anything except plug in the USB, Open a Calc App and run my cards through it. It showed different pieces of data in different cells. It showed up in my Devices Settings as: MSR90U just in case you are looking for it. Overall I am very satisfied.

The software I use requires an MSR90 card reader and this device works perfectly. I guess the letter "U" in the model name refers to the way you can swipe it in both directions. The green light is supposed to light when a card is read. Mine stays on and doesn't turn off, but I don't care. It reads cards and that's exactly what I need. If you have problems, open the notepad app on Windows and scan a card, if no text appears, try another USB port.
