I've always bought this in u.s., where i live, but haven't found it lately!! is this the same taste/formula (this is from canada) as the original?

Actually, I happen to have an old canister (with use by April 2019), weight: 2.56 kg, made in the U.S., and distributed by Nestle U.S.A (Glendale, CA.). Ingredients list is as follows: Sugar, Citric Acid, Instant Tea, Maltodextrin, Tricalcium Phosphate (prevents caking), Natural Lemon Flavor. Calories: 60 per serving. Carbohydrates: 15 g, all from sugar. New ingredient list: Sugar, Citric Acid, Instant Tea, Natural Flavor, Silicon Dioxide. Calories: 70. Carbohydrates: 18 g, 17 from sugar. So, only slight difference in sugar, old to new, but natural flavor is increased by percentage in new formulation. BTW, Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide (a type of sugar) used commonly as a flavor preservative.

is this the original ice tea that had the orange cap?

I bought the yellow cap version recently and I think its the same thing. To answer your question, (only difference I can tell is yellow cap versus blue, the rest of the container is the same) is that it is very close to the original orange one, not the "exact" taste, but closest I've found in a long time.
