Bartoline 55878765 2.5L TX10 Paint and Varnish Stripper

Best paint and varnish stripper I have used. Last job was on a decking area and it stripped it with ease.

Used on a metal garage door where the paint had started to peel. I was not too hopeful that any paint-lifting product would be effective on metal paint or, if it were, that the removal of the resulting softened paint would be arduous. I followed the instructions for a small test area but didn't really leave enough time for the second coat to work. I was impressed - but still had to work a bit in scraping off the residue - although it got easier towards the end of the task as time had passed. For the remainder of the door, I left the first coat to work for a full 90 minutes before adding the second coat and leaving it for a similar time. I was frankly amazed at how completely the paint was lifted! In many cases I was peeling off a full square foot with ease. I didn't even need to follow up with sandpaper - it all came off like the skin off a rice pudding. Pictures show the door after the second coat had been given time to work - and the final result about an hour later!

first time I used a paint stripper. First application I followed the instructions and it did little in an hour. For the next one I left it 4 hours or until the surface showed the bubbles of the paint coming off and that did the trick for me. The scrapping was easy after that. It's an expensive product considering how much surface you cover with it but do leave it on rather than doing a second application and it starts to make more sense. also not much chemical in it and the smell is not that strong (well at least I did it outside)

What a horrific product, it goes on fine, but it doesn't hardly remove the finish beneath, no matter what your stripping. I used it to strip a Walnut dining table which should be fairly easy, but no, This left horrible black dots all over the table, so I had to scrape the whole table a lot to get rid of them - so I had to spend a lot more time - not only that, it stain they wood too, before, it was a light brong, after have this stripper on it, it had attained a purple hue. On a second chance, I tried it on some oak cabinets with a thin finish, thinking it would easily remove it - quite opposite, it turned into a complete sticky mess, and didn't even remove the finish after being on for well over an hour. It took me about 3 hours to scrub the stripper off of the wood, as it was even stickier than set PVA glue. I certainly would not reccomend this anyone for use on wood, maybe metal, It could somewhat work, but I'd still not risk the frustration. I'd recomend that if you're a proffessional, go with Paramose stripper (one of the best) and for a far superior budget option, go with Nitrose Craftsmen stripper.

Tried two other wells known brands before this. We found this one the best and the most financially economical. Tip put plenty on and cover up with with something to keep the moisture such as plastic bags.
