Q: For a 120LL pump with 100’ of 1/2” house what psi rated relief valve would you use to protect pump?

Hello DK, Thanks for asking! Although the HP series pumps have great output they are low pressure pumps. You can contact the manufacturer for further suggestions on PSI rated relief valves. In the Backyard or Farm pond setting we recommend a heavy duty manifold with an additional valve to allow excess air to be bled off. This will decrease the back pressure on the pumps diaphragms. Q: Can work at 5 feet deep?

I am using one of the pumps with an aeration diffuser to aerate my pond. Works very well.

Q: 3/8" vs. 1/2" hose? Is the extra cost worth it?

FYI, I did speak directly to an engineer at Hiblow. He said they do recommend using the 1/2" hose with this unit as opposed to the 3/8" hose, though 3/8 will work. You'll get better overall performance with the 1/2.
