Great value for diagnostic work
I feel compelled to write a review to relay my experience. I upgraded from an old 630 to this unit. I needed more capabilities to cover new European vehicles. I've used this a number of times now and it has performed as I expected. It has solved problems on BMWs, Audis and Mercedes saving me potential trips to a garage. I'm a home mechanic and know my limits but half the battle these days is knowing that should be addressed. For instance, a recent failed Fuel Tank Breather Value on a BMW X1. Super simple fix once you've read the codes and know what to change. Bottom line, this competes with other brands but if you've used Foxwell before, this will be very comfortable. I haven't found anything it can't tell me in this mid tear (meaning not the $1K+ pro tools) diagnostic tool. I recommend it, especially if you can get it on discount. I don't use it for long periods of time so have never encountered battery issues. Updates to the machine are much more simple now with WiFi capability. My old one was the one you had to take the SD card out and connect via laptop. The reports that can be sent via email before (or after) a diagnostic session are great and easy to read. Provides a traceable account of problems observed and in my case a starting point to research the fix. Thumbs up from me

Scanner will not charge!
Upon opening the scanner it came with about 70% battery life. After leaving it plugged in all night, and today trying several different cords (not an issue with our cords) this device will not charge. There is no light that indicates it's even plugged in (not sure if it has one), and when I hold the power button it gives me a dead battery symbol but shows no indication that it's charging. In other words, it's just a big paperweight.

Saved me a ton of money
I bought this to help me track down a weird issue with my wife’s car to keep from blowing a bunch of money having it scanned or doing a bunch of part swapping hoping I find the right one. I was able to scan her car in great detail and do all sorts of sensor testing along with live data to find out that it was the camera behind her windshield causing her service brake light to stay on and disable all of her safety features and her cruise control. I’d have never thought of that on my own. Replaced a $1300 camera and everything is perfect again. All thanks to this scanner. It was easy to use too: now I have it and I can use it on all our vehicles and even charge people to do a detailed scan on their vehicles and give them a print out. They can do that to keep from getting ripped off by a dealer or crappy mechanic.

2005 Ram fuel system (Cummins)
I have a 05 ram Cummins with a fuel pressure problem. On Ram fuel systems this only goes back to 06! I'll keep it for the 10 &17 models we have. Still getting schooled on it.

There are better products. This one ain't it.
Not what i was expecting. The tablet is good but program needs work. Problem codes are not matching code description. I had a P0455 code and the tablet told me it was for traction control. That code is actually for a large leak in evap system. Had a misfire and the code that came up was a p0302. Misfire in cylinder 2. Description of the code told me it was a problem with body control. There is no view of pending codes. For the money I paid for this thing I would expect it to work properly and not mix up description of codes and show me data pertaining to pending codes. It is comparable to a regular low end plug and play handheld. Even though they don't describe the code, it doesn't matter any way because the tablet is wrong anyway. Plus them 100 dollar ones shows my pending P0455 code. The tablet won't. I would not rely on this for major problems if you are a DIY mechanic or student learning in the field. Invest in a good one. Doesn't have to be snapon but there are other good ones out there. Another thing was that when I purchased this item, it came with an offer for a free dongle cable. Would been great but this tablet does not have a port for these dongles. They are still sitting in the package unopened collecting dust.

An extremely powerful tool that is easy to use.
I have just spent the last few weeks trying the FOXWELL NT809BT diagnostic scanner, this is my 3rd Foxwell diagnostic device test and I must say that while all of my previous tests were very positive in experience, this NT809BT is truly impressive. Though I am not a mechanic by trade, I have been working around cars for 40 years, and in terms of diagnostic tools, this is one of the most powerful that I have used to date. I definitely consider this to be a professional grade tool. This is a bidirectional, all systems scanner that hosts an extensive selection of functions as well as over 30 dealerships level resets. The scanner is extremely well made, rugged, and is easy to use. It runs on Android 9 and features a sleek and intuitive interface that makes it a pleasure to use. My experience to date is that this scanner seems to easily pickup engine diagnostic codes as well as SRS and ABS codes. We even managed to come across an engine code on a buddy's truck, and we weren't even poking down into that hole. I also find code retrieval to be very quick on this unit. The best reason for buying this scanner or any other bidirectional unit is the fact that you can access and control systems and components directly, giving you the ability to activate or shut down any numbers of systems. Bluetooth connectivity makes this scanner a real pleasure to use. The freedom from cable just makes everything easier. The display on this scanner is next level compared to others that I have used to date. It is large, bright, and crisp with high levels of contrast, which makes reading this screen an absolute pleasure. Even high-level light environments are no match for this screen. With over 150 manufacturers in the data base as well as vehicle profiles for the North American, European, and Asian markets, working with both OBD2 and CAN protocols, this scanner covers a whole lot of ground. This scanner is absolutely fantastic, and my buddies agree. The price tag might scare away a casual user and I would argue that this scanner is way more than a casual user would ever need but if you are looking for the build quality and functionality that this device offers, then they money becomes more justified. This is a time saver and comprehensive tool for your car or light truck. 100% Recommended!

Don’t buy if you’re in Australia.
Do not buy this from here if you’re in Australia. The software isn’t there for Holden and other Australian vehicles. You’ll have to figure it out by using USA software for GM cars and hope it works. Foxwell won’t support you well and you’ll be pissed around from pillar to post. Shocking service.

A Very Handy Wireless Tool
The first thing I did was perform updates on this scanner. We live in a rural area and are unable to get high speed internet service, so we use a mobile hotspot. The scanner would not recognize the iPhone we use, nor would it “see” the phone when the hotspot details were entered manually. I enabled my Galaxy S12 hotspot and the scanner picked it up immediately. I guess it doesn’t like Apple, or maybe because it’s LTE. The updates didn’t take that long at all, but that will depend on your internet speed of course. It will also depend on whether you choose to download the available updates for all makes/models or just certain ones. I performed all updates, and then updated jut certain makes a couple of weeks later. I own a 2015 Nissan Rogue SV AWD with 169000m. I’m having no issues with the vehicle, but I wanted to use this scanner to check for any potential issues, as well as record a baseline status. I intend to scan monthly. The vehicle is maintained and serviced regularly at a Nissan dealership that I used to work at. I used to use handheld code readers, which meant plugging it in to the OBD port under the dash and the working at floor level because of the short cord length. The wireless capabilities of this device eliminate that and allow freedom of movement! To begin, I needed to select my vehicle. Once that was done, the VIN has to be entered. I tried using the “Smart VIN” feature, but this wouldn’t read my VIN, so I had to enter it manually. When testing, the battery voltage is monitored and displayed. I wanted to select different control modules and select specific testing modules, but I kept getting a “no communication” to check of the scan tool was correctly connected to the vehicle, that the ignition was turned on and that the battery was fully charged. I had to use the quick scan feature. This pulled up a number of failures; it also tested features that the vehicle is not equipped with. The failures were all past codes, so I was able to clear them and retest, with no faults found. I saved this report and will use it as my baseline test for comparison going forward. I am not a technician so there is a lot for me to learn. One thing I will use it for is monitoring an intermittent O2 sensor DLC that randomly cause a check engine light to come on. The shop tells me this is nothing to worry about until there is a solid failure. It came up a couple of time last year, but hasn’t reappeared since. So I am generally happy with this scanner, although there are quirks that I will continue to see if I can work around. It’s mainly for a general auto shop to test and diagnose faults on different makes/models, but it’s good for a do-it-yourself-er to use and learn from. I didn’t find the manual all that great. I wasn’t sure if testing should be done with the engine off, on, or just in prestart. I ran my tests with the engine running. Next I will be scanning my girlfriends 2013 Chevy Trax with 68000km and see what’s stored in its ECU. It will take a while to get used to what works and what doesn’t, and how to get around the Diagnostics menu, mainly to clear unwanted DTCs, like that generated by having the hatch open when running a test. I’m having fun!
