I bought this product before we brought our puppy home. He immediately loved it, slept with it, played pull with it and sometimes squeaks it, close to driving us crazy, if he wasn't having so much fun. Through all this, it has stayed in one perfect piece. In the same time period, he has chewed through two beds, (I thank goodness the duck has no stuffing.), and the same quantity of puppy-teething toys. My puppy is a cairn terrier not a retriever of any kind so I wouldn't base your choice on breed. To sum it up: Both I and my dog have been very happy with D.D. better known as Dead Duck.

At first I thought it was too big for the puppy. But, as he grew it became his favorite. My adult dog likes it too. Durable, with crunchy sound.

I would consider my senior chocolate labrador to be quite the aggressive chewer - but the issue is that she does not like the tougher toys that are intended for aggressive chewers. I try to give her some enrichment by occasionally giving her toys that she can easily rip to shreds in minutes (with my supervision, of course). Obviously, I cannot afford to do this daily but it's truly the only way that she will enjoy playing.This little chicken has served somewhat well for this purpose. I do think she likes the crinkle material, but squeakers have always been her favorite. After a bit of playing with it, she tore the comb off (which contains the only squeaker). She kind of lost interest right after she got it off. I am happy that she enjoyed playing with it for a little while, but I had hoped that she would still enjoy the rest of the toy.ADDITIONAL NOTES:- The squeaker wasn't insanely loud like many others- Beware that the squeaker is pretty small, could easily accidentally get swallowed- This stuffing-free toy provides less clean up- The toy comes in a super small box (view photos). I was initially worried that I ordered a way too small toy, but it expands when you take it out- It appears that the limbs come off pretty easily, at least with aggressive chewersObviously, this toy is not great for large breeds or aggressive chewers. It was exactly what I wanted, except I wish that the squeaker was in the actual body instead of the comb. Not horrible, not super great.

He actually ripped it slightly cause he played with it so much lol.

The toy is very cute and my Shelties have had fun tugging with it.It washed very nicely.This morning one of the Shelties was able to remove the squeaker from the chicken and chew on it.If he swallowed it, it would have been very serious, even deadly.

So cute has crinkle fabric inside my dog won’t put it down he addicted loves it very durable noise is great & of course quit chewable
