6PCS Strip Discs 115mm Paint Scraper Rust Remover for Angle Grinder & Metal

I bought these to help restore some old steel workshop equipment, and they've worked far better than I expected. Unlike a traditional grinding disc, these remove rust, old paint and surface contamination without aggressively removing the underlying metal. That makes them ideal when you're cleaning up parts that you don't want to gouge or change the shape of. I've used them on rusty brackets, painted steel and a few fabrication projects, and they've made quick work of removing old coatings while leaving a clean surface that's ready for primer or paint. They also do a good job of cleaning up light weld discolouration. The discs have held up well too. I expected them to wear quite quickly, but they've lasted through several projects and still have plenty of life left in them. They run smoothly with very little vibration, and I haven't had any issues with them breaking apart during use. If you're restoring old metalwork or preparing steel for repainting, these are a great addition to the workshop. They save a huge amount of time compared to sanding by hand and leave a much nicer finish than a conventional grinding disc. Excellent value for money.

Very good for cleaning old paint from concrete window sills. I was tired of the spatula and the wire brush for several hours. With this, I cleaned the window sill in 20 minutes. I recommend for this job 100%

The finish is terrific, far superior to any other grinding discs / paddle wheels / sanding discs etc. that I have used previously. Although I have only presently used them on commercial vehicle bodywork I can imagine them coming up trump's on a multitude of surfaces. My only concern thus far is longevity. I need to pay as much attention to the strip discs and how I am using them as I do to the final finish of my work. For example if you use them on too much of an angle then the wear of the discs is more significant than keeping the disc flat when in use - easier said than done.

I tried to fit the discs to my angle grinder but they were very eccentric - about 3mm offset from centre - so they fouled the guard so badly that the grinder could not rotate, and they vibrated badly when the guard was removed. For safety reasons, I did not want to use them without the guard so I returned them unused to Amazon.
