Hunter Dempsey 59246 Ceiling Fan with Light and Remote Control, 112 cm, White

I purchased 7 of these fans, 4 new and 3 of them used/like new. Two of the used/like new units had a problem with the remote control unit, probably the reason they were returned. These I had installed in rooms in which they were rarely used, so more than 30 days elapsed before noticing the problem. In one case, while off, the light would flicker on for a fraction of a second approximately each 15-20 minutes. In the other, the fan and light would shut off for a second every 30 minutes. So my whole $30 savings (plus) on each was eaten up by paying for replacement remote controllers, which fixed the problem. No problems with the other 5 units.Aside from that, I am very happy with the look, sound level, remote functionality, etc. I put two in one large long room, and control them in parallel with one controller.

Hunter continues to provide products that support its excellent reputation. We have two Hunter ceiling fans that were installed by an electrician (part of the job was to install new ceiling light receptacles so we let him do the install as well). When needing a new fan for the family room I ordered this one, confident my husband could do the installation and according to him it was a breeze (no pun intended). We needed an extension on the down rod that he picked up from Home Depot and with the clear directions for the fan installation he was done in less than 45 minutes, mind you, he is a very handy guy! The fan is very quiet and looks discreetly elegant in our small room. The remote works great and sits nicely on the light switch plate. We do not find it ‘cheap looking’ per other reviews, it’s a simple small remote that blends into the switch plate. One thing is that the lights could be a bit brighter, we may change the bulb wattage after we’ve lived with it for a while. Highly recommend.

Nice modern style and easy to install.

This is a great fan for its size. The remote works perfectly, it is quiet except for the highest speed, which is to be expected. The only thing I could criticize is the bore hole for the down rod was not perfectly threaded, but I can live with it. Nice slightly off white colour also (didn’t want bright white).

Like the design, good lighting once I replaced the lamps that came with fan (buy 2- 9 watt LED dimmable 41k). Fan works great, very quiet. If you do not like the beep feature just read instructions on how to silence. Blades have a white side & a light colour wood design side, I went with the wood.
