A good quality joint supplement in paste form.
We try to give our elderly dogs a joint and mobility supplement every day, and the usual components that are found in various combinations in many products do seem to help them to avoid stiffness and pain and to improve flexibility. We think they are both over twelve years old, and not small dogs, and they regularly manage a one-mile walk without much trouble. It is harder to know which ingredients are the most helpful or indispensable, so we try to include them all as far as possible on a regular basis. This product, which is the first we have tried in this convenient paste form in a tube, has glucosamine from crustaceans and molluscs and omega 3 from salmon oil, plus a number of vitamins and minerals, but seems to lack chondroitin, MSM and turmeric that are usually included in this kind of supplement. So, it's a different approach, but the aims more focussed, with joint stiffness the target. The dogs are happy to eat the paste, unlike some products, but dosing is partly guesswork. The guide printed on the tube recommends a quantity in grammes to be given daily based on the dog's weight, but it would be easier to meter it by length of extrusion. I am not sure how many inches or millimetres constitute 1g, for example. But if the dose were followed correctly, and our two dogs shared 35g per day, the 250g tube should last about seven days, and cost £15.99.

Took some work to get my chihuahua interested
The paste smells like crushed up biscuits and has a gritty texture when rubbed between my fingers. Much like an exfoliating product would do. I have a young cat and an older dog, both of which fall into the smallest weight category. First attempt, my chihuahua wasn't interested. My cat had a few licks, after which she behaved as though it was claggy around the mouth. She's the type of cat that loves those yoghurt/gravy type sachets. The second day, I weighed out 3.5g of paste onto a teaspoon. Again, Freya (cat) had a couple of licks. Cindy (dog), I put a tiny amount in a proper sausage and with some struggle, she eventually ate it. Third attempt, I managed to get her to lick the whole amount off the sausage. Fourth time, after the sausage, she licked it up, happily. Unfortunately though, she has now been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. With the high amount of crude fat, I'm not sure that this is suitable for her now. My cat has lost all interest in it.

My dogs love this paste
We have 5 dogs and 5 cats of various ages and I like to make sure that all of their joints are taken care of regardless whether it's the seniors or the young ones.Looking at the ingredients we have everything to help support healthy joints so I do like the ingredient list a lot! My dogs in particular all line up in the evening for their dose of the paste.Good product and good price.

Maybe an acquired taste
The media could not be loaded. Neither of my dogs will eat it neat so I will have to mix it with food. One is a choosy eater but the other isn't so the fact that she won't eat it straight out of the tube tells me there's no point persevering.Mixed in food it works but they definitely sense that something is there that shouldn't be there.Maybe it's a small dog thing. I doubt a hungry Labrador would be as a selective. The feeding guide on the back of the tube is clear and the ingredients seem to be great.I would recommend it, especially for older dogs, even if it's necessary to mix it with food.

Good product
My cat was not very impressed with the taste. Ate some, left some. Better than nothing, but not as tasty as other pastes which she devours. Good ingredients and benefits there for older cats. Taste could be improved.

good stuff
I've been using this for our older cat, and whilst she's still stiff going up stairs, she does seem to be a little better since using this. The price isn't bad when you're only using a few grams a day, however I could see it being very expensive if you have a larger dog.As much as I can tell, it seems to be doing something, however I don't think we've used it long enough to form a proper opinion - she could just be having some better days due to the warmer weather.

My unfussy cat wouldn't touch it
I have an elderly cat with arthritis and as a result am now giving him a daily supplement to try and help him carry on with less pain. The ingredients in this paste look very promising however sadly he wouldn't touch it as he didn't like the smell.I will revise this post if I find that it's effective when mixed in with fancy cat pate as I'd hoped this would be sufficiently tasty that I didn't need to hide the supplement in order for him to be happy to take it.
