Helps in unexpected ways
This "splint" was recommended by a friend who is also an OT and has an arthritic thumb. I am wearing it while I type this. It is highly flexible. I had to pay attention to wrap the outer strap around the thumb and not the palm. I did it wrong the first time and needed to reference the photo to get it right. What surprised me is the subtle warmth of the wrap. I don't sense so much "support" but warm therapy to my thumb joint that is often achy with pre/peri-arthritic pain. This provides just enough binding to allow me to easily work with no "ouches." I am able to put thumb to each finger, grip, and navigate fine motor tasks fine wearing it. Still figuring out things like washing hands and cooking messy ingredients. It isn't super simple to strap on one-handed, but I'm getting better at that aspect.

Great CMC support
I sprained something using a very strong cordless drill and a hole saw. I tried a regular thumb brace, but it didn’t help much. After some Investigation, I figured out that it was my CMC (Carpal-metacarpal) joint, the joint just above the wrist. My other 2 thumb joints were fine. (I suspect this is an unusual injury, there are many mentions and braces for “gamekeeper’s thumb”, but not many for CMC.) I tried some local stores, nothing better. So, I bought this brace, it works great! Without brace, it hurts to pick up a 16-oz glass of water. With brace, I can pick up a 1/2 gallon carton of milk. I cut off part of the thumb sleeve (as described in directions) because I didn’t need support there. The brace is small enough to use with x-large winter gloves. I also used it with work gloves, cutting open the back of the glove to make room. Comfortable enough to sleep with (but beware of restricting circulation), still preferable to ouches during the night when moving bed covers or pillow.Update, 5 weeks later. This brace let me do any work (even heavy work, I made a small cut in the back of my work gloves to make more room) while my sprain was healing. After a few weeks, I needed it less and less, now only for very heavy work.

Cheaply made
This was a great brace until the stitching started coming undone. I should not pay this much money for something that didn't last two weeks, before it started falling apart. I would have sent back, but I was out of the country, so now I am outside of the return window.

Runs way small , even after using their measurements
I ordered a medium because my therapist said they run small. The medium was supposed to fit 7”-8” and I have a 7 1/4 “ wrist. Unless I wanted to shut off the blood flow to my wrist , the Velcro strap would not attach. Way too short/small. I ordered a medium + and it fit around my wrist but the thumb retainer was huge so it didn’t keep my thumb partially immobilized. Sent them both back.

Wrong size splint was sent and not noticed initially
I ordered a large splint for my hand since my medium splint was sightly too small so I thought to try a bigger size. I was sent a large plus size splint which is useless to support my hand and wanted to exchange it for the right size that I ordered. It seems that this is not possible. I will have to report this to trading standards since the purchasing contract has been broken and not addressed to fix the problem. It is important since the splint does not function as required and was expensive.
