Started reading, these brands of books just seem very repetitive to me, but they’re easy to read

Adorable and educational...
These are the greatest little books. I have the other two, and plan on purchasing the two most recent books. They would make great gifts, and they are beautifully designed. I’ve been meditating for years now, but still couldn’t pass this book up.

One of the best in the Little Bit series
Another great “Little Bit of” book by author Amy Leigh Mercree. As with her “A Little Bit of Mindfulness” book, she writes in a clear, concise, conversational manner neither talking above nor below her reader.While the format of these books is all very similar, Mercree keeps it fresh and interesting while covering the topic of meditation.She begins, as all these books do, with the history of the subject. In this offering, she then moves on to modern day religious meditation styles, followed by the science of meditation. While the science chapter is quite short, this goes to show perhaps we should be studying it more to see how meditation changes the actual brain. These changes may be responsible for an increase in emotional regulation, self-awareness, and attention control.After these informative introductions to meditation, Mercree then gets into the meat by discussing how to create your meditation space, positions, breathing meditations, mantra meditations, loving kindness meditations, and movement meditations such as trance dances, mudras and walking meditations.Mercree finishes the book by providing several guided meditations to help get you started on your path.A great little book to get you started on your meditation practice. The beautiful covers make these books ideal for gift giving, along with collecting for yourself for an informative and visually appealing mini library.

Meditations for the beginner and the practiced.
This book looks sweet but, it is a deeply thoughtful introduction to several styles of enlightening meditations. You can carry it with you to your favorite meditation spot. Mine is under a tree in the backyard where I feel connected with nature. I will treasure this book always.
