the last book in the series
Henry Lapp and Emma Fisher are attending the annual rodeo in their small community of Monte Vista, Colorado. It is the state’s oldest professional rodeo and a source of entertainment for those from miles around. The Amish and English both attend and enjoy the event together. Before the professionals take the stage, it is amateur hour for those who aspire to join the professional circuit. A young Amish man, who is still enjoying his Rumspringa, has his sight set on this career, but someone has another idea in mind. As Jeremiah Schwartz leaves the shoot to tackle a steer, he is shot. Henry hears the shot, but has been waiting in line for hot dogs. He is unable to use his remarkable gift of drawing an exact recreation of the scene at the time of the shot as he wasn’t watching the rodeo. The local authorities know about Henry’s ability, but this time they need his help convincing the Amish to help the authorities. Henry questions and observes various people as he tries to ferret out the killer. A dark side to young Jeremiah is revealed, but will this lead Henry to the killer? Is there anyone else in the killer’s sight? Emma longs to marry Henry and start their married life together. She wants nothing to do with any more mysteries. Two have been enough for her, thank you very much! She wants to help Henry and support him in his role as bishop to their Amish community, so she prays for all involved.I’m sorry to see this series end as I have enjoyed getting to know Henry and Emma. The conclusion to this novel is touching and sincere. I admire Henry and his ability to pray during the most stressful situations with such heart. Emma is practical and a real “Martha”, but her love for Henry is evident throughout. The mystery portion of this novel wasn’t as gripping as the first two novels, and the first third to half of the book was slow going, but the second half got much better. The ability of Henry to gather the community of Amish and work together, as well as work with Englishers to bring a criminal to justice was awesome! The reminder that God takes care of His own was great to see in the story. This is a series that will hold readers captive for hours of enjoyment, so get all three books today!

Stellar End to a Superb Series
I'm sorry to see this series end; but if it must end, I am so glad it went out in such a spectacular way. Beloved characters blend with new characters and a plot filled with twists and turns to create an engaging mystery. Chapman has always been talented in creating that vital sense of community that is indicative of the genre. Her books highlight the challenges and blessings of working alongside the Englisch members living nearby. This series has been as much about building bridges between the two worlds as it is in solving the mysteries.Though this is a stand alone novel, I highly recommend starting with the first book, What the Bishop Saw. It's nice to watch the relationships evolve throughout the three books. Faith, friendship, and learning to accept our talents are recurrent themes. If you like Amish fiction and enjoy mysteries, you won't want to miss Who the Bishop Knows by Vannetta Chapman.

Loved
I enjoyed all three of these books so much...each one just kept getting better. What a beautiful job the author did. She made you feel like you were there with Henry, Emma, and all of the rest of the family and friends...helping them try to solve everything going on in their small community. These are definitely books you'll want to read 😊

Just as with book 1&2 this book did not disappoint! However if you have read books 1 &2 ...
Book 3 in the Series The Amish Bishop Mysteries by Vannetta Chapman Who the Bishop Knows.Just as with book 1&2 this book did not disappoint! However if you have read books 1 &2 you know our beloved Bishop Henry has a very special yet unique gift from God, I won’t reveal it in case we have some who have yet to read this series, I will say that in book three Henry finds for the first time he can’t count on this gift in a way he has before but with that said God never forsakes us and you will see in this wonderful book that Vannetta takes you on a wonderful journey of mystery we have come to love with her books. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as well as the whole series and would recommend it

Third is the Charm!
Vannetta tells us that this is the last in the Bishop series, and I am so sad. I love Henry and Emma and their families. But Vannetta is still writing so I have hopes for whatever she is up to next. I so love her concise descriptions. She doesn't over-elaborate details but her action and story line just are so perfect. Of course, being the third mystery in this series, the reader knows to expect a quick hook and she just never disappoints in that regard. This third book was the charm. Loved it!!!!

An exciting sequel!
Like the first two books in this series, book number three grabs your attention right away and never turns loose! The love story is beautifully woven together with the beauty and simplicity of ordinary days and the fact that God knows the number of our days and the challenges we will face. Vannetta Chapman's books always convey the joy of a simple life, a humble spirit and a heart of forgiveness. This one was no exception. I look forward to the next book by this very talented author!
