Finger tip cots
I received a zipper bag with 4 pairs of these finger cots, with each pair in its own smaller zipper bag. I had a cracked thumb because of the dry weather, so I put one on before showering. It did a great job protecting my thumb, I didn't get any soap or anything on my thumb at all, and my thumb didn't hurt. If I didn't have this on, like in the past, whenever I showered, it would hurt, so that was how I knew this worked. The cot itself is very soft and flexible, easy to put on, and very easy to take off. You can just roll it back and it'll just come off. Easy enough to wash, and I'm letting it air dry.Why only 3 stars? If these are called finger tip cots, they would get 5 stars. These are only long enough to cover the finger tips, not the whole fingers. I sometimes so need coverage for the whole finger, not just the thumb, not just the finger tip, but the whole finger, these would not be able to do the job. I love that these are reusable, wish they were long enough to cover the whole fingers.

Odd quantity but accurate to description
Bit weird that it comes in a set of eight... but no surprises here. I have occasional issues with dryness and peeling of my fingertips, so was planning to use these to try and seal in some moisture. They do that just fine, and I appreciate that they are reusable. They rinse off and hold up well, so I don't anticipate the need to replace these anytime soon.

Not quite what I thought they would be, but not bad, either
I live in a Northern climate, and I work in an industry where I am washing my hands all day long. Therefore, my hands are constantly dry, and my cuticles are brittle, and my fingertips crack and bleed. The only time I have to be able to do anything to repair my hands is at night while I am sleeping. Traditionally I have used different types of Band-Aids, mostly fingertip, with healing ointment underneath, and then often times a glove over that to keep the Band-Aids from coming off overnight. So, I thought I would give these a try, and maybe save myself some money on Band-Aids, as these would be reusable! First off, note that the average human has 10 fingers, yet this package only comes with 8 finger cots. Strange. The postings DO show all 5 fingers on the one hand with a cot on them. Anyway, the first night I tried these with the normal healing ointment I use on my fingertip cracks, then placed the cots over the top of that. They slipped on fairly easily, except when you get down to the last couple, because the cots do have a bit of a sticky feel to the outside...not really tacky...more like just a little grippy. Plus, of course, I have to decide which 2 fingers each night will not get the protection of the cots, as there are only 8, and as stated previously, I happen to have 10 digits. While the ointment was still fresh on my fingers, the cots did quite a bit of slipping around on my fingertips, enough so that it was actually affecting my ability to fall asleep. They eventually let the ointment sink in, and after that did not slip around on my skin any longer. They come off easily enough when rolled off the tips. The next night I added a glove to the same routine, to help keep the cots from sliding around or off my fingers. These finger cots are so thick, that it was very difficult to get them into the gloves, but it did work better this way. I also did try them one night just by themselves, without the healing ointments I usually use, and that seemed to work OK, but not as well. I would think that for many people that just need a bit of extra care at night, that would be just fine, but if you have the very intense cracking and bleeding, then not so much. For me, I am still keeping these as a tool to use on some occasions, but they are not going to be my overall problem solver that I use on a nightly basis all winter long. I may try them for other things, but this is mainly what I got them for. They also DO rinse and dry off well, so it is super nice that these can be cleaned and re-used for different purposes! As for finger pain relief, don't fall for that! I have arthritis in my finger joints, and this didn't do anything for that. I was not expecting it to, because really, how could it? But I just want to be clear on that point, too.

Great for cracked skin around your fingernails
I am required to wash dishes by hand for my job, and I am constantly fighting against split, cracked areas around my fingernails. I tried wearing moisturizing gloves at night, and while they helped somewhat, I needed more localized treatment. I decided to give these finger covers a try. They were easier than I expected to put over my moisturized fingertips. The material is stretchable but snug, and stayed in place all night. When I removed them in the morning, I immediately noticed a difference in my skin after being able to apply more localized treatment. I have only used these finger covers for that purpose, but they have broader applications, such as covering and protecting burns, injuries, or providing slight compression for aching knuckles.
