Fireworks 5-Pound Kiln Wash

I was looking for bullseye or primo wash/primer. I had read up on reviews and couldn't really decide on which and came across this stuff called fireworks. I use it primarily for glass. I have been using bullseye but was finding that at high temperatures wash was sticking and in some creases wash was sticking. Looking at all the products for primer/wash it seems most are made of Alumina and kaolin so I was think of purchasing ingredients and making my own. sometimes experimenting is helf the fun. Well anyway I choose this product instead. Good price at under 20 and free shipping. Made by Diamondtechglass.com and this product does contain silica which is very good substitute for Kaolin or Alumina not sure on the ratio or other ingredients.How did it work. Using a Hake a brush I find it very easy to spread and only need a few coats on ceramic. On Metal it is a little finicky and the bullseye stuck better but it works. I never used primo but lots of reviews indicate it has to be shaken a lot during application or it settles out of the water. Well this product settles out more than bullseye did but again works just fine for me. I have used this three times since its purchase and it worked great on the shelf and in molds like kiln casting. this primer I find very easy to smooth with my fingers if any bumps occur during preparing and the best feature is that it very easily brushes off the glass if it does stick a little with my finger. no sand basting , no soaking in vinegar. This product does not have a color in it so it can be hard to tell if you re-prime over existing primer. But I also found that I can re-fire on this primer with out any issues. In short it works well for me at a high temp full fuse which is important to me. Thanks for listening and hope it helps.

first time buying kiln wash. picked this for price and product reviews. it works well and seems to protect the kiln shelves. used it once and time to use it again

Glass sticks to this wash...hard to remove. To impossible to remove from finished art works. I will not order this product again

bought it for the wifey and her kiln. she says it works just fine

I have now fired the first application of this wash 3-4 times and I'm getting ready to grind and flip my shelves. I just checked this morning and I've had zero flaking. Good product. Good price. I like that it comes dry.

Came in a plastic tub with clear and easy to follow instructions. Great price and product! I highly recommend the use of this product.

Worked very well in my kiln. Easy to use, and privided excellent protection. The directions were clear and easy to follow.

None of my projects stuck to the shelves, so I recommend using this on the tops of all shelves prior to glaze firings. Wear a mask when mixing the contents of this bucket for safety. It is hazardous in dry form.
