WOW! I love this carrier!
A little pricy, but worth the extra cost because of the color - lavender - and is exactly as shown in the picture. I bought 2 of these carriers because they're a pretty color. Yes, I'm a girl. There are several things that I like about this carrier: the color, the fact that they can be stacked and be fairly stable (I'll use them for taking my cats to the cat show because they fit my grooming cart), they are made well, and Marchioro's Customer Service is great. One of the carriers came with 2 missing parts (the package had be opened prior to shipment - my guess is that someone took the parts they needed and returned the carrier to Amazon). In the carrier is a contact sheet for replacement parts so I called Marchioro and explained my situation. The nice lady on the other end of the line apologized for the inconvenience and said she would put the missing parts in the mail that afternoon - no charge. Super nice way to do business. I'll definitely buy products from this company again. Thanks Amazon!

Absolutely My Favorite Carrier
I have been using Marchioro Clipper Cayman 2 carriers for years and years. Unfortunately, I can no longer find them. I happen to have a smaller female cat and, when her own carrier broke, I bought the Marchioro Clipper Cayman 1. Those can still be found. It is sturdy carrier and my cat even sleeps in it because I never put it away. What is more, the seller enclosed a note with the carrier indicating that if anything were wrong he would replace the carrier. I am very happy with my purchase and I really hope the carriers stay in stock.

ALL Pet Carriers Should Be Made Like This.
The Clipper Pet Carriers are by far, the best! I've had cats for most of my life, and have used several kinds. After finding this one, I hope they never stop making this cat/small dog carrier. This is the one carrier that you can buy that completely disassembles (for storage) and reassembles quickly and easily, using the plastic clamps on the sides that you can flip upward and outward, to detach the bottom of the carrier from the top. This carrier is the perfect size for one cat or one (very small) dog (like a Yorkie or Chihuahua breed). I wouldn't put more than one animal in this carrier as carriers that are too confined or cramped make pets extremely anxious (you don't want your pet to EVER dread going in it). My old pet carrier was almost identical to this one. It was a dark navy blue one (with the flip-up & out plastic clamps) that I had from years ago (that I had accidentally made a large crack in the side of, when it was empty, during a move). For years, I couldn't find any pet carrier that was good enough to replace it, until I looked on Amazon and saw this. It's made by the exact same manufacturer as the old one that I'd damaged. What's really great about these carriers (from the standpoint of your pet) is that if you have a cat or (small) dog who is really nervous or shy while at the vet, you can remove just the top and metal door of the carrier, letting your pet still sit inside his/her comfort space (on a towel or blanket), while you comfort them, until the vet is ready to examine them. You can also buy detachable wheels (that easily snap in at the bottom of the carrier). You have to buy the wheels separately, as well as the carrier strap (for over-the shoulder toting, or it also extends as a strap to tote the carrier behind you in airports/or on flooring with a smooth surface). If you're potentially going to be walking over uneven or rough sidewalks, I recommend that you carry the carrier, using the strap, to let it hang off of your shoulder, so that your pet doesn't feel stressed from a bumpy ride. You can also separately purchase an attachable water and feeding dish to the metal door. Another tip: if your pet hates the car ride, try and let them sit in the front seat, with the front of the carrier facing you, as you drive. Your can place a sheet or blanket covering the carrier, to help them relax more. If that still doesn't help them relax, you can even try and leave the carrier uncovered at the front, so they can still see you.

Defective spring latch mechanism
I purchased two of these because of the fun colors and because they are made in Italy. The spring latch mechanism (that you use to open and close the door) was pure junk on both of these carriers. It is so difficult to squeeze the two tabs together to get the door open or closed. They get stuck and it hurts the fingers very badly. You have to keep squeezing very hard and working with it back and forth. I contacted Marchioro corporate customer service. I was initially told to lube it with WD40, which smells bad and is probably not safe to have near your pet. I tried it, but still no luck. They offered to send me two replacement doors with new latches. They informed me that they would double-check to be sure these are working properly. I was happy to receive them today, but extremely angry to discover that they both had the same problem as the others. They either 1)did not check to see if these worked, or 2)all of their latches are faulty and therefore they just sent me more faulty latches. I think the problem is because the two latches share the same spring, and the spring gets stuck on each latch. Marchioro is a company that has provided a low quality product, and did not fix the problem after giving an opportunity to do so. So I am returning both of the carriers to Amazon for full refund and taking my business elsewhere. It was more frustrating because these carriers are big and came in big boxes, so it was a pain to repack and ship these back.

Nice carrier for a cat with an easily removable top
We use this carrier to bring our cat to the veterinarian. It would probably also work far a very small dog. The carrier is small and serves the purpose of keeping the cat contained while in the car. I wouldn't subject an animal to be being stuck in here for more than 30 minutes or so. If you need to travel long distance, consider getting a larger kennel with room for the animal to move around. One thing I really like about this carrier are the side clips that make it easy to quickly remove the top of the carrier. This can make it much easier to get a scared cat out of the box rather than trying to drag out out through the door. Just be careful not to pinch any paws or tail when securing the lid if an animal is inside. I would have given it five stars but I removed one because the latches for the top half are somewhat flimsy and can fall off and get lost. Otherwise a good product.
