Exactly what I expected. A great speaker. Improved the sound of my Blues Jr very nicely.

This is the one.
This is the one I chose for heavy metal and didn't go wrong. Loud, clear and very well made. Has a great punch and pairs perfectly with my Randall Diavlo 1 watt head. It has great tone at both low and high volume. Celetion all the way.

One of the best speakers
I purchased a Greenback (8 ohm version) to try out in different amps and to blend with other speakers. I have a red stripe Peavey Bandit 112 that I like to test and break in speakers since it is relatively easy to install and uninstall speakers and I am quite familiar with the sound of the amp. I also have a dozen or so different 8 ohm speakers (I generally avoid 16 ohm speakers due to them having more high end and less mids) in my possession including early 90s V30s, early 2000s V30s, M65 Creamback, H75 Creamback, H30 Anniversary, Texas Heat, the Governor, Canabis Rex, Private Jack, EVM 12L, and so on. To my ears and in comparison to other speakers, the Greenback (8 ohm version) has little to no high end harshness (8k and up), little to no sizzle and fizz (think mesa boogie sizzzzz and fizzzzzzz) in the presence region (5k-7k), increased mid mids (500-2k) and upper mids (2k-4k), fairly neutral low mids (200-500), and slightly less low end (80-200). Overall, the frequency response of the Greenback (8 ohm) with its slight bump in the mid mids and upper mids and smooth, rolled off presence and high end make it sound very warm yet clear in both clean and overdrive applications. I would highly recommend the 8 ohm version of the Greenback for those who are wanting to tame a bright amp (too much sizzle and fizz in the presence and harshness in the high end) and want a British crunch that cuts through the mix (warmth due to slight bump in the mid mids with clarity and cut due to the slight bump in the upper mids). I also find that amps with a "presence control" will be better at dialing in a crunchy yet more or less cutting tone in regards to using a Greenback.

Settles high end fizz as hoped
I just finished installing the speaker about 20 minutes ago, so I’m not in a position to write a full review, but I did want to offer that this speaker is already accomplishing what I had hoped it would. I am using this speaker to replace an Eminence Copperhead which has a prominent spike around 20K. A lovely speaker for clean sounds, but since I get all of my distortion from my Orange Tiny Terror, there was a prominent high end fizz, particularly off-center from the cone (worth noting that this is the same spike that shines up the clean sounds). Through certain dirt pedals, I was not running into that same artifact since they have pre-EQ that rolled off that very high end of the frequency range, so I would presume that the amp is a little more full range or “raw”. Anyway, this amp is excellent for resolving what was, for me, and undesirable EQ curve, offering a somewhat similar if more muscular core tone without the fizz. In my opinion, the Tiny Terror skews more towards a JCM800 type of sound, so I was hoping this pairing would float into a more “classic” realm, and it is looking like it will accomplish that end. Long story short: If you have an amp that is a little toppy, look up your speaker’s EQ curve, look up this speaker’s EQ curve, and if you notice your current speaker has a more meaningful lift past 5K/10K, this may check the box for you.

Perfect for a Dr Z Mini Z or low Wattage practice/studio amps
I purchased the 5W Mini Z made by Dr. Z as a little practice/studio amp about a year ago. It has an attenuator which allows lowering the Wattage to less than 0.5W. It came with a pretty efficient Eminence Red Coat Ramrod 10" 75W 8ohm. Well, I was about to sell the amp because it was still very loud and aggressive even at low volumes. I saw another review by someone on Amazon who made the switch (thank you btw) and I decided to give it a go. And wow! I love the amp again. I can now use it across the entire volume spectrum and get natural distortion from the tubes (I use no pedals on this amp) without shaking the windows. The Greenback according to my research is NOT an "efficient" amp which means it produces less "loudness - dBs" per watt from your amp. This may not be to everyone's liking but to me it opens up the entire spectrum of clean to natural distortion on a tube amp. The speaker sounds sweet, it has a lot of range and the break up is classic 60's rock warm and fuzzy. Great speaker for my needs and I would say for anyone who has a low Wattage amp and needs range. btw pay attention to the Ohm rating. This speaker comes in a 8 and 16ohm with the same wattage 30W. check for compatibility with your amp. in my case the mini Z takes an 8ohm.

A speaker ready to tap you on the shoulder or knock you over the head
I bought the Celestion Greenback 10" 8 ohm. I play blues slide guitar and this speaker sounds incredible. I run it from a Vox MV50 AC. For a cab, I used a brokencombo amp with electonics rattling around inside which I bought for $50. The cab was built to house an 8" speaker but the 10" fit. I put the broken electronics in a bag. So now I have what amounts to a tiny Vox with a big voice.

No more muddy sounds
I watched way too many YouTube videos before settling in on the famous Greenback. I have a 1/2 watt and 5 watt tube amp and was unsatisfied with the sound from my other cabinets so I upgraded to this speaker. Although lighter then the Vintage 30, this speaker produces clearer sounds with the low lower amps.

Great replacement for my Fender Blues Jr.
Replaced my jensen speaker with this one in my tweed fender blues Jr. It's a cleaner sounding speaker and less flubby sounding in the low end when pushed. I am very happy with it.

Perfect upgrade for Fender Pro Junior
Sounds fabulous in my Fender Pro Junior, and much lighter than the Weber 10F150-T that it replaced.
