A good upgrade for NHS crutches
I was worried about my mother using her crutch over the winter with icy or wet surfaces. She had a nasty fall once. These replacement rubber ends seem a lot more secure than the standard ones. When I replaced them I realised that the old ones had become quite polished as well.I thought replacement might be tricky but the old ones pulled off easily enough and the new ones went on nicely. Make sure you get the right size, and it's critical that they're pushed all the way on to the end. You should also rough them up a bit before using them. Sandpaper or a rough surface will do.They're quite expensive but I think they're worth it. I'm going to keep a close eye on them to see how they wear. I have a feeling they may need replacing fairly frequently.

Solo il prezzo mi costringe a non comprarlo spesso.
Troppo caro!

The Safety Option
Excellent idea.Makes my crutches that much more secure especially on wet granite pavements.Very easy to swap over the ferrules, literally just twist the old ones off and these on.Only negative point is the price, they are quiet expensive. But there again, what price safety?I am pleased I purchased them and will replace like for like when the time comes.Highly recommended.** August 2018 UpdateI have now added Slipnott ferrules to my sticks that I use indoors and outdoors at home. Same story: sticks are a lot more secure especially on my Granite Paths which can get slippery when wet.You do have to get used to the different walking action, but that is a minor point compared to the huge increase in safety.Still HIGHLY recommended.

No going back
Having replaced my original standard ferrules with the slipnott version, I would never use the old style ones again. The standard ones wear on one side and slip when placed on their edge.I have been using the slipnott ferrules for two years and find their grip to be superior as they always sit flat on the ground, make turning easier because of the ball joint and do not show any sign of wear. They may cost more than two pairs of standard ferrules, but are well worth it. An excellent product.

Safer than "ordinary" crutch ends
These are used for my disabled son's crutches. They are much safer in use i.e. they sit flat on the floor and they last many times longer than the standard ones. They are quite expensive but worth it.
