A waste of money. Did not work and manufacturer never responded to my calls to customer service.
I purchased the ND2730 specifically to backup my memory cards from my Nikon camera on a recent trip to Southeast Asia. I tested the Nexto Di before I left and it appeared to work. But that was the last time that it worked. It never backed up my memory cards while I was traveling and has not done so since I returned. I called Nexto Di customer service and left a long message, but no one ever called me back. I wasted $400.00.

Finally a portable HDD backup solution that can read my CF cards!
I received this today in the main and opened it as if today was Christmas morning. After opening the initial shipping box, I noticed that the ND2730 was in a very nicely setup large package, complete witha see-through plastic window. -- In short, very good for a customer presentation of this unit.Diving right in, I noticed that it was already charged! Powered on the unit, it was already preformatted (500GB with ~ 460GB available), and ready to go. Now the heat of the moment. I popped in my Kingston ultimate 600x CF card, which was previously not readable in the Sanho Colorspace UDMA 500GB unit that I just sold on Ebay and.... after crossing fingers--- errored out on the attempted read :(Ok... digging in through the paperwork, I noticed that it recommended to upgrade to the latest firmware on their website, so I thought, why not? After attempting to login to their site nextodiusa dot com, no luck on finding their firmware-- it just had their product brochures. So on to the main site in Korea nextodi dot com. After finding the link to change everything from Korean to English, I found the link to their firmware-- The latest as of 09/14/11 is version 1.03; I checked the unit, and it reported 1.02. So downloaded the file, put it on the HDD via FW800 connection, ran the update process (which took a total of 30 seconds) and attempt #2 of the CF card copy....... SUCCESS!!<begin angelic music playing in background and beaming light displaying on the Nexto DI ND2730 unit!)In short, after the firmware upgrade, this unit is very awesome, definitely touches upon all that I'm looking for-- Portable CF card backup solution when on the go without having the need to bring a laptop or netbook! It also supports USB 2.0 and Firewire 800 (Firewire is awesome, since it's FFFAAAAASSST!!! on transferring the files to my Macbook Pro and Mac Pro in the blink of an eye.PROS:- Great for photographers who like to travel light- After firmware update to v 1.03, able to read Kensington Ultimae 600x CF cards (as well as other CF cards with UDMA-enabled microcontrollers)- Very simple to use and intuitive menu interface-- up, down, short-button and long-button press along with beeping confirmation- Comes with OK protective case and FW and USB cables- Firewire 800 support! And its faaassstt!!- Simple preview function to view most pictures in JPG and RAW format!CONS:- Small screen (maybe for power savings?)- Theres two stickers on the case that are marked "void if removed"-- On a relatively dark case, the stickers are bright WHITE and stick out like a sore thumb--- Place on the leather cover and most of it is hidden.- No way to replace battery without opening case and voiding 2-year warranty-- Need to bring into a Nexto DI dealer? for repair- No 3rd party cases (i.e. better quality silicone cases) availableIn Short:- Glad I made the purchase, this is definitely fitting to my needs. If you are looking for a solution that did what the Sanho Colorspace UDMA Hyperdrive promised but didn't, then this is definitely what you're looking for!

An interesting hard drive for transfer of images. I took it to Botswana when I didn't want to carry a computer and the transfers were easy and the hard drive worked well for storage from my digital cameras.

No Customer support
My wife and I purchased the ND2730 specifically to backup disks on a planned photo safari. Although it seemed to work fine at home, 2 days into the trip, the unit would not charge when using the AC adaptor. When we got home I found it will charge when connected to my desktop computer, put not when plugged into a wall socket. So I essentially have a very expensive 500 GB hard drive rather than a portable photo storage device. After two emails over the last 10 days, Nextodi still has not responded to my warranty claim.

Portable, Reliable and Fast
I've been looking for a way to offload my photos without a laptop or other bulky media for the past six months. Before seeing this item, I'd only seen two other products and the reviews for both were very inconsistent. I was beginning to give up hope. When I found the Nexto I shocked at first by the price. It seemed a little pricey for an external HDD. But, after reading the reviews, I found that the flexibility of this item was exactly what I wanted and the feedback from the people who had bought it was all positive (which was lacking from the other portable photo storage options).I take photos for a local minor league hockey team. After each game I have to go to the team office and offload my photos from that game so the team can use them for promotions, advertising or whatever. I could just drop off my card and pick it back up before the next game, but I edit the photos when I get home after a game. So, I'd sit in the office for 30 minutes or more and let them copy the night's photos before I could head home. Since getting the Nexto, I can now start copying the files as soon as the buzzer sounds. My time in the office has been cut to about 10 minutes and that's normally because I'm chatting with the owner or other office staff about the game and not waiting on my files to transfer. I drop off the SD card and head home.I can also see benefits when I'm shooting multiple events in a day. I can transfer the first event's photos when I'm done and copy another event's photos in another folder to keep them from getting mixed up when exporting into LightRoom. Same is true when I have shoots on consecutive days and can't get to a PC or laptop. In the short time I've had the device, I am truly happy with my choice. It has a 2 year warranty and the HDD is SATA II and can be replaced if needed (be aware that the warranty is voided if you open the device or break the seal). The internal battery is rechargeable and seems to have a good battery life (I transferred photos (about 60GB) for three days without needing to recharge).

Haven't put it through its paces, yet.
Checked it out and ran some tests, but have not tried it in the field. So far so good. Mode selection is cumbersome, but performs well. Couldn't get the incremental backup to work, but didn't investigate the issue yet.
