The Adventures Of: Record Keeping for Game Masters

Amazing campaign journal.
There are a lot of reviews already, so I wont go page by page. This is a beautifully planned out book, I love the aesthetic amd little sketches on the pages. The table of contents setup is perfect for finding things in such a complicated book. The one downside is, I wish there were more writing space in some areas.

Good quality
I love the depth this books goes to record adventures. However, I wish it had more space for worldbuilding notes. The map space assumes a fantasy world, so it's harder if you want to do a science fiction world -- so I just used the map space for the star sector, and taped in world maps of planets to visit. I personally love a lot of worldbuilding and how it factors into adventures, so the setting page felt too brief for me. But other than that, this is great for roleplaying adventures with friends! And great for a DM wanting to keep track of their notes!

So many pages!
I got this book in yesterday and let me tell you, for someone that likes to organize stuff and have things in a nice order and hard copy, this is a great book. There's so much space to write about the Major/Minor NPCs, important locations, the PCs, and all of the two page spreads for adventures. The icing on the cake is the Epilogue section in the back. For a long campaign I think it'll be really nice for players to have epilogues for their characters.

More useful for a player than a DM.
I haven't officially used it yet since I was waiting for my newest campaign to start first, but so far, I love that there's a section for making notes on the characters and that are more than just character stats, but it could still use a little more detail. I also wish there was more space for NPC information and it wouldn't hurt to have more room for setting details, but it's still an okay resource for players. I wouldn't really recommend it for a DM though since there's not a whole lot of space for notes.

Unexpected Cool Gift
I'm not a D&D player myself but my 20 something year old daughter and her fiancee are. So when they got these for a Christmas gift, they were surprised and really happy because it was something they said was a great idea but they had not thought of it. I was pleased to be able to provide them with a nice game accessory that they said was cool and useful.

Perfect for Gaming
Bought one for my dnd group, everyone loved it. There's a lot of writing space, and it's especially useful if all your games take place in the same world (my friends were saying that a high enough Knowledge: Local roll should allow you to reference the book of a previous game for details)

The only Adventure Journal you’ll ever need
I haven’t even used this notebook yet - but it’s the best RPG notebook I have ever seen. It has places for party member, NPCs, locations, critical hits, dropping to zero hit points - heck, the actual journal doesn’t even start until page 64. Each session spread has a place for what happened, where you played, who DMed, rewards you got, even who was the MVP! Best of all there is an epilogue section that really celebrates ending a campaign. Seriously, I might buy more of these just to have around for future campaigns.

great rpg companion
a great way to chronicle the adventures of your rpg characters, geared towards dnd but not sternly. a lot of rpg could fit in the layout. great for a DM/GM or in-game PC chronicling there adventures

The best book to use for keeping your game where it needs to be.
Really great stuff. How the book is laid out definitely shows that Hale knows what exactly is needed when keeping track of the adventure. As long as your writing isn't super huge, every chunk of space for descriptions and information is the perfect size you'll require. If you're preparing to DM or be part of a game, this book would be perfect to keep the group aware of the quests, settings, friends and enemies.I've gotten all three of Hale's books so far, and they've all been gold. Can't wait for the next.

Helpful addition but not esensial.
I have done a lot of role play over the years. Nothing in here is needed to record your adventures that isn't provided by blank paper. However if you prefer to keep your notes on paper rather than on a laptop (like I do) this can be a ral help with formatting. 52 separate pages allow you to track weekly sessions or use each one for an adventure. You don't need this to play but as some one who looks back on 20+ years of role play I find myself wishing I had one of these from previous campaigns to remind me just what happened and when. Nicely laid out and easy to use. A handy helper.

AWESOME!
This book is perfect for me as a DM to keep track of some of the funnier moments in the campaign i am running. Great sections in the book like critical hit and death logs. Absolutly love the end of the book where everyone signs it at the end of the adventure. Beautiful.
