The Mummy Case (Amelia Peabody Book 3)

Fascinating series on Egyptian archaeology at the turn of the last century with a feisty female character tell in the story. There is a lot to be learned if you are interested in that period as the author has done a great deal of research.

I have always enjoyed the novels by Elizabeth Peters especially the Egyptian discoveries in the pharaohs tombs but this one didnot do it for me. I completed it but did not enjoy it as much as the previous ones, in fact by the finish I found it tedious.

shame really, Peters a good writer but for me ruins them with too much who did and didn't do crimes /murders great shame

Rather old fashioned by good fun. Egyptology plus solving crimes and living with two eccentic males, one husband, one son. Amelia swashbuckles her way around Egypt and beyond.

Book in excellent condition - you would not know it was preloved

If you love Egypt this is the series for you! Brilliant plot and very good read.

Loved it! Just the right mix of humour and suspense. I came across this series a number of years ago and as library no longer has them, decided to get them for myself. Will definitely be read many times.

I have several recordings of the Amelia Peabody Mysteries narrated by the marvellous Barbara Rosenblat. I was quite hesitant about buying a recording by someone else. I was right to be doubtful. Susan O'Malley just does not come close. Amelia with an American accent! There are no 'voices' that is to say you can't 'hear' Emerson and all the other individual voices which Barbara Rosenblat uses. If you love Amelia Peabody and if you want to be transported then please chose a recording by Ms. Rosenblat. This is dire!
