Colgate Optic White Purple Toothpaste for Whitening, Enamel-Safe Mint, 3 Pack, 4.2 oz

In all honesty, I purchased this by accident. But as the late great Bob Ross said “let’s make it a happy accident”. I am impressed with how quickly it began working. My teeth didn’t feel sensitive, my dentist complimented my appearance. And I noticed a difference in a week. I’m a coffee drinking smoker, and my vices trend to affect my smile. But this toothpaste really combats my habits. My husband enjoys it too! Definitely a subscribe and save item.

This toothpaste definitely changed the color of my teeth. I used to be a smoker and this definitely helped ! Its sensitive on my teeth and tastes minty. The texture is like a normal toothpaste. I do thinknits a little expensive, but it does the job.

This toothpaste is fine, it’s about the same as any other whitening toothpaste, except it’s purple so that’s fun and fresh. I know purple shampoo works great on blonde hair, so I thought maybe purple toothpaste would work great on teeth. But unfortunately it’s the same as any other toothpaste. Nothing to write home about. It gets my teeth clean, but didn’t make my teeth any whiter (however I usually use non-purple Colgate optic white toothpaste, so I didn’t expect to see a huge difference in teeth whitening). This toothpaste has a weak mint flavor, it’s not a strong mint at all. After I brush my teeth, my breath doesn’t smell minty. But it doesn’t smell bad either. Another weird thing about this toothpaste is that it gets weirdly sticky when it gets dried out on the toothpaste tube. You can see it in the pictures. It’s not really an issue, but it’s notable. Overall this toothpaste is just average, nothing special. I probably won’t buy it again just because it’s not very minty. I’ll stick to the purple shampoo, not the purple toothpaste.

I am a Dental Hygienist with 40 years experience. I have always been skeptical in both my personal and professional life. I would not have had any motivation to try this purple concept but I got a sample of purple prophylaxis paste at work and was impressed with how well it worked. I decided to try this and it really does take the yellow out. I have only used it a few times but it made a huge difference. I have been recommending it to patients too. Even after clinical whitening teeth will pick up day to day stains from coffee, tea etc. I drink both copiously. This would not work on anybody that had not had basic preventive dental care. But for someone who needs to maintain it is excellent!

This toothpaste really brightens your smile. The purple formula helps neutralize yellow tones, and it noticeably lifts surface stains after just a few uses. It leaves your teeth feeling polished and your breath fresh without being harsh. A simple, effective boost for everyday whitening.

So I have been using a variety of different Colgate Optic White toothpastes for several years. As per usual, some work better on my teeth than others but all give decent results. This particular "purple" version does an outstanding job on whitening my teeth and is the best Colgate whitening toothpaste that I have ever used. ..... but... That being said, after i used it the first time the inside of my mouth, my tongue and lips felt a little sore as if something had burned them slightly. Unfortunately, every time I use this toothpaste and see the beautiful white results, within a few minutes the burning begins and I am convinced that there is something either corrosive or caustic among the ingredients that while highly effective at whitening teeth are also burning and hurtng the inside of my mouth and my tongue. My tongue also turns purple and stays that way for quite a while. Not a good look . . . . . So maybe I am sensitive to the ingredients and I cannot tolerate it, which is my theory because I have not seen anyone else make note of burning in their mouth as part of their review of this product. I am now going to go back to the non-purple Optic White version and hopefully, all will be well. As I stated above, this provides a very fast and effective whitening of my teeth and it is pretty impressive. Hopefully all of you who try this out will not have the problems I have had.
