Better Than Expect
Small, compact, and lightweightโthis fire starter has been a game-changer for me. I've started more fires with this than I ever have with my ferro rods! While Iโm not a hardcore outdoorsman, Iโm trying to get outside more, and letโs just say I may have gone overboard investing in ferro rods. But I digress. Having one of these in my pocket, along with some cotton balls coated in petroleum jelly, is a foolproof fire-starting combo. Itโs incredibly easy to use, and I even tested it while wearing gloves. Although a bit more challenging, it still worked. The sparks are just the right temperature to ignite cotton balls. I also tried it with waxed jute twineโit works but takes a bit longer to catch. Iโm not the biggest fan of Bear Grylls or the products under his brand, but I gave this one a shot and was genuinely impressed. Highly recommend it!

Tiny, convenient one-handed operation, and better than Spark Lite version
These are a bit bigger than the Spark Lite versions and have nice rubbery grips, hence much easier to use. These are still vastly smaller than just about any other fire maker, is a one-hand operation, frees other hand to cup or hold tender together. Cheap, tiny, convenient to use, and very effective; no wonder the military uses this style for their personal emergency kits. I switch to these when Spark Lite changed their sparking wheel to a more aggressive tooth, which made them toatally unuseable (they dug into the flint too much and jammed). Maybe Spark Lite changed manufacturers.

Difficult to get spark
Found it difficult to get a spark. I would not want to rely on this in the wilderness. Now trying to return (says free returns) but I have to find a printer to get the free return otherwise pay. Not happy with this product or Amazon.

Great Spark, too small for man's hand.
The product produces a good spark but it is too small for a man's hand. it's difficult for me to close my hand tight enough to keep the fire starter up high enough in my hand to strike. If it were longer and a little fatter it would be much easier to hold. I made a holder for the sparker that makes it much easier to use.

Works - great back up in the outdoors
Nice 2nd or 3rd fire starting option to have in your bag when in the outdoors or backcountry. Can be used to light a stove or a fire if needed. Easy to use, lightweight,

Handy item, no weight!
Very handy tool for fire when you need it most. Takes a while to master the technique but at least you can have fire when you may need it most. Great idea!

Does as it's meant to
Can't fault the product. It works flawlessly, however it's a bit pointless really. If your going to carry this why wouldn't you just carry a lighter? ๐ค
