Surprised at how far tech has come!
My parents asked me to get them a GPS device so that they could drop off my youngest sister to Santa Barbara for college.Of course being the great son that I am, I complied and began my search for something that they can easily use to navigate, with the main criteria that it can be set to other languages than English. (My parents are Chinese.)So after researching for a few, I came upon this. What set this apart for me compared to the others, is that it comes with a very secure looking mounting bracket. My parents are exactly the most delicate of people, and I worried that because they can't mount it correctly that the GPS would fly all over the place. With the stout looking bracket, it should be no problem for them.It came quickly, and my sister in Norcal was able to change the language settings on the GPS as soon as it turned on.Perfect.As I walked my parents through the functions on Facetime, they were pretty impressed. I mean, these folks literally don't know how to use a smartphone, so seeing them bounce around the menus after a few minutes was quite impressive. They were able to use it (and quite successfully) to drop off my sister for her first year of college. They then were able to use it to navigate to Los Angeles, where we met up and had a few days to chill. And then navigated all the way back to the Bay Area.I'm surprised at the ease of use for them, and they couldn't be happier. The large screen and mounting bracket really helps the older folks with them having to squint and be distracted. Instructions are relatively clear, as is the voice commands. My parents were able to understand all the commands made by the voice. There are many other options for this unit such as music and what not, but as an actual GPS it works really well. I may or may not teach them the other auxiliary functions, but until they ask I'll let them work it out.The only con I would have to say, is that the first time you power this thing up and try to get a signal it would take a bit of a long time. I believe for us it was close to 15-20 minutes before the GPS signal was recognized, and we were good to go.A lot of people would probably think that the GPS was broken before then, but be patient, and that signal will pop up.

Don't do it!
After years of using TomTom and Garmin I needed a new GPS. I saw lots of positive reviews and was excited to find such a cheap product with such great reviews. On my one and only trip kept losing GPS signal, began misdirecting me in my own neighborhood and got me lost outside of Washington DC on the expressway during rush hour losing signal. Spend the extra money and buy a Garmin. You'd think as ubiquitous as GPS technology is they'd all be basically the same, not true, this device was so worthless, I probably would have had better guidance on my trip if I would have put the empty box it came in on my dashboard and just guessed.

just did not work at all
I ordered this product because it was inexpensive, large screen and got at least decent reviews. However, in three attempts at using the product, it NEVER accurately got me from point A to point B. It took me all over the place and seemed to have no real connection to any GPS signal. If I did not know the area that I was driving in, I would have gotten lost completely.

bang for the buck
bought this last minute for a trip to Mexico. it was easy to use and gave us good directions. for the price it is hard to beat. Would I have rather had a Garmin? absolutely but that's several times more expensive. For 60 bucks if I never use it again it was worth it.

price and ease of use
Purchased on July 16th, 2019, received it 7-10 days later and started using it a week after that. Last month it started intermittently powering off and last night ( October 13th, 2019) the battery fault indicator warned failure and the unit now will no longer power up. In summary after less than 3 months (more like 65 days of actual use) this device no longer functions. I contacted Amazon and in rare form, they were unwilling to help me and pointed me to the Seller/manufacturer. I sent a message and am now waiting for a response. I will update this as the situation develops...Wed. Oct. 16th three days after sending a message to the Seller/manufacturer and no reply, yet? Called Amazon support and they are now looking into it for me. Why they couldn't have done this back on Oct. 13th, and saved me this time from waiting and not having a functioning GPS? More to come...Wed. Oct. 16th afternoonContacted Amazon staff regarding the seller/manufacturer NOT responding to my warranty claim and Amazon basically told me they cannot issue a refund, nor can they make the seller/manufacturer honor their warranty. Amazon did offer me a $5 gift certificate for the headache, I'm guessing? Thanks but I really just wanted a reliably working GPS unit. So I took it apart, removed the crappy little Li+ battery and replaced it with an old mobile phone battery(I have mad soldering skills) Charged it up and all seems to be working fine now!My advice to any prospective buyers, save your $50 and just buy a Garmin or TomTom. The UI on this thing is a bit of a pain, it doesn't always find a satellite and as I've said, it's just a cheap unreliable piece of junk! I hope this helpscheersR.F. Peace
