Ellen Degeneres: Here And Now (Viva/DVD)

I laughed so hard the first time I watched "Ellen DeGeneres - Here and Now," I actually had tears rolling down my face (a rarity for me). Even though I've watched it several times now, it still makes me laugh. I can relate to so many things: procrastinating (with unfinished jobs all over the house); forgetting what I was going to say; waving at the wrong person; tripping then pretending to jog; singing the wrong words to songs; etc. On top of that, Ellen's humor is quite "clean" compared to most routines heard these days. I highly recommend this DVD for anyone looking for some good, clean laughs.

I will keep this short. There are no extras. It is not widescreen because it was an HBO special and made for old school CRT televisions. But it is funny as all hell. I laugh at this all the time and it is clean enough humor to put on around kids in my opinion. I don't think she cusses once the whole show and there aren't any jokes that are inappropriate for younger audiences in my opinion. Unless talking about toilet paper rolls is somehow wrong. It's really funny.

If you like Ellen, you will LOVE this stand-up routine. I am not the sort of person who likes to watch movies more than once or twice, but I have watched this DVD so many times that I feel like I know it by heart. It's not gay-themed, so if you're looking for that, this is not the DVD for you (minus one small bit at the beginning of the routine which is, of course, HILARIOUS). Ellen discusses everyday things and then presents them in a way that will have you in stitches. If you're considering buying this - consider no longer. JUST BUY THIS - NOW! You won't regret it.

Ellen DeGeneres - Here and Now is Ellen DeGeneres doing one of her stand-up routines. I really like her humor, and this DVD of hers did not disappoint.

Not as funny as some of her other routines but cute. I enjoyed it and got the DVD at a good price. Glad I didn't pay more for it.

This is a gift for my girlfriend. Her other disc is beyond scratched and we can never get past the part about the dissolving energy strips until one of us is sick of all the skipping.So i thought i would replace it and it was here before the expected delivery date.. I believe i got it on the 14th, and it's not expected until the 17th! MAJOR PROPS FOR THAT ONE!

.Beautifully crafted and delivered comedy that holds up well 10 years later.It works well for ages 8 to 95.The humor is not too simplistic or predictable and is not lazy profanity-laced humor.She somehow keeps it smart and edgy enough for sophisticated adults while keeping it accessible to youngsters and the elderly.Just great family entertainment at a nice price.

I started watching this DVD around midnight thinking, "Eh, I'll get it started and finish it tomorrow...".. that did not happen. I was laughing like a freakin' hyena until 1:30am. I couldn't get enough of it. I have not laughed so hard in ages. I had tears in my eyes it was so funny. She hits the nail right on the head.. over.. and over.. and over again. This has got to be one of the funniest comedy routines I have ever seen. I highly HIGHLY recommend it.
