I decided to write a review to someone like myself. I spent hours reading up on bathing suit board shorts and not many gave the detail description that I was looking for. So, to the girl/woman looking to cover more than her bottom area, here is my review.I am 5'3" and weigh about 175 pounds. I recently had two kids so I still have a little belly flab I'm working on getting rid of. I measured myself with a fabric tape measure. I measured 35" around the waist and 44.5" around the hips. I went online to make sure I was measuring the appropriate area for these measurements. According to the size chart, I was a size 16. So I ordered a size 16.My package just came in today. I tried them on and this is what I found:- The fabric is very light and comfortable.- There is an elastic waist band in the back to keep any "quarter slot" from showing which I deeply appreciate. Also, there is a tight fit around my waist so I don't think these will fall off in the water.- The front has a "shoelace" type tie that only holds the velcro "zipper" from coming apart. If the tie or velcro should come apart, nothing will show because there is a piece of material there to cover anything.- The length of the front of the crotch area is long, so I plan on wearing under ware to feel like I have something on.- The length of the shorts comes to just above the knee cap which is perfect for me.- The shorts are baggy and loose, but I like that since I don't like skin tight anything!- There is also a right side pocket to hold an ID or money. You can put a phone in the pocket, but the flap won't shut so the phone may fall out.I have not tried these in the water yet since it's the middle of winter and snow on the ground where I live. However, I do plan on going to a tropical place for a vacation soon and wanted to have a bathing suit that fits me now.I am currently sitting in an office chair writing this review in these shorts. I like the feel of where they are when I sit. Only about 6 inches of my thigh is showing above my knee. The crotch area is not tight and I don't feel like I have a wedgie.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase for the price. I feel like I got my monies worth and may just order another pair soon to have for around the house in the summer time.

These board shorts were just what I was looking for to take on a recent trip. The fabric is light and they dry quickly. The length of the shorts makes them appropriate to use as regular shorts as well as to swim in.

Fits well. Great suit for those who want swim shorts or even shorts for just wearing around. You can also wear them over your swimsuit so that you aren't walking around feeling exposed. Great buy.

Was very happy with the shorts, fit just right, didn't discolor anything after using it so much. Had it for my cruise in the Galapagos.

Love these board shorts. They fit nice and stayed secured when swimming in the ocean.
