20 “Elfin” looking Female characters in grayscale designs – printed one side of the page
The media could not be loaded. This is a lovely grayscale coloring book. It is, apparently, the third in a series by this artist. It is the first that I have purchased, so I can’t speak for any changes from the first and second stylings to the ones in this book. Also, for those who don’t care for grayscale, it seems that there is now a line drawing version of this book (which did not exist when I purchased my copy some time ago.)There are 20 designs in this book. The female characters all have a similar look (very, very thin with slightly oversize heads and large features.) The result is rather an elfin type look than an emaciated “Twiggy” look.It is definitely grayscale, so be aware that there is a use of light gray on each design. Grayscale is a type of coloring which calls for coloring over gray to get shading rather than simply coloring each element on its own. I used to use markers with pencil over top but as my health issues no longer allow me to use markers, I use pencils by themselves. A different look and feel but fun nonetheless. This is what I found in this coloring book:20 grayscale Female character designs in the bookPrinted one side of the pagePaper is typical inexpensive quality by CreateSpace printing: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated.The designs do not merge into the bindingGlue BindingCreate Space Paper/Media QualityAlcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work fairly well with this publisher’s paper provided you don’t press extremely hard while coloring. I find that I can layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and blended easily with a pencil style blending stick. This is true of both oil and wax based pencils. I have also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.I like to use a blotter when working in this type of book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.

Very Intriguing!
I had no books by Zan Von Zed, but I saw a flip-through of this one, and more or less had to have it. It is definitely a recognizable style, which is why I love it so much. I love the art, but will admit that one of my friends does not like this book, so do look at a flip-through and try to gauge if a friend might like it as a gift. I'm glad I don't have to worry that this one will be "borrowed" immediately. The paper is nice, with enough tooth but not too much. I do not have experience with oil pencils, but wax pencils will do well, except the very hard ones. My favorite Black Widow brand takes this paper well, as does Prismacolor Premier and other "soft core" pencils. Test your medium before you decide what to use on this book. Very wet mediums will not work well. If you use markers, test them and as usual protect the page behind with something stiff and thick--even from pencil lines if you have a hard hand (which I sometimes do).It is a beautiful book, full sized. I will probably buy a second copy, to be able to do each picture two different ways. (I'm saving for a new copier, but it has to wait in line.)

They have a mystery behind their eyes and a ghoulish presence
I like the drawing for the most part and I liked the paper its great with all coloring media. I did not try water color since I'm not used to using it yet. I would have liked to see the eyeballs filled in which I added in and the picture of the lady with no legs. They are strange looking women in general with dark masses of color in their faces which I found to be to heavy when coloring. But I did like the idea that they didn't look like all my other coloring books with women. I do appreciate all artist who can draw because I can't but I enjoy being a colorist.

I love these books. I hope she/he do many more
I love these books. I hope there will be more I love them all. I print on other paper. Why does All the paper glisten? It might be the paper or the colored pencils. It’s hard to work with.

Beautiful, wonderful art
The paper isn't great (it's super toothy) but I adore Zan Von Zed's artwork so much. This is a gorgeous book full of imaginative images of women in her signature style. It's greyscale, but her drawings in particular lend themselves so well to a kind of..dirty?.. finish that you don't have to be a master of coloring it.

Love it
love this book. The greyscale is great and I love the art work. Is not a lot of pages but I flove simplicity of the book. My only issue was that the paper was little better quality.

I like this coloring book it has beautiful drawings and the grey scale is not too dark. The pictures turn out very nice. I would buy this book again. The only thing I don't like is there are not enough pages in the book. Love your work. Can't wait to find more of your artwork.

Gorgeous greyscale colouring book
Gorgeous colouring book by the wonderful Zan Von Zed, featuring these beautifully unusual ladies for you to colour. They are all greyscale. If you are unsure about greyscale do look for tutorials as they can be a pleasure to colour once you have the hang of it. Arrived very quickly with no issues.

Bezaubernde Ladys
Daher 4 bezauberte Sterne!
