I bought these to add to my wire plant racks because I didn't want to have a bunch of rigid LED bars hanging down. You get 11.8 feet of flexible strip with a 3M adhesive backing. I didn't use the adhesive backing, as the metal on my racks was too narrow, so I used zip ties to secure each strip. I installed one entire strip to each rack. You can cut the unit to length (using the marked cut zones) but I opted to use the entire length. The LED side of the strips is coated in a clear epoxy, making them at least water resistant. The light strip powers on when plugged in. The strip uses a wall wart with a barrel-type connector and there is no on/off switch or dimmer. This makes them perfect for use with smart plugs to automate your lighting. For every 3 red LEDs, you get 1 blue LED. The photos make the light output look purple, and at a distance or through blinds, it does give off a bit of a purple glow, but when you're near you can clearly see the red and blue.The lights are moderately bright. I would recommend these for plants requiring little to medium light, or using the strips as supplemental light to natural sunlight or other grow lights. My mini roses did not seem to take well to just using these LED strips, so I moved them up a rack to get some natural sunlight and supplemented that rack with the LEDs. My spider plants seem to be content using only the LED strip. I don't know that I would recommend these for germinating seeds, unless the strips are an inch or two away from the soil. If you intend on using these for plants requiring full light, you may want to double or triple the number of light strips you think you need, and run them very close together. I may try this on one rack to see if it performs any better for more light-requiring plants. Using 4 full-length strips 24/7, the weekly power consumption is only 2.55KWh, making them pretty cheap to run.

It works, pretty, and white just the way I like it. It isnt super bright and has no timer. Its long enough bc of its length. Unfortunately it broke into pieces after being zip tied for 2 weeks! So use it gently and no zip ties! Oh and awesome priced!

I like how these connect, and that you have options for configuration. I have these set up to supplement indoor plants.

Lights work, however these will not stick to anything. I’m attaching them to clean, flat, metal surfaces and the backing won’t stick. I’ve even tried adding extra sticky tape but they still fall.

Quality adhesive backing and well made product. Don’t love the purple color, was hoping for more of a white light but I probably just missed that detail in the description. They’ll work for my high windowless shelf I think. As an FYI, the cord is only about 4ft long so keep that in mind (may need an extension cord like I did).
