As soon as I received these I repotted my Philodendron into one of the pots and used the other to grow some cuttings. I immediately thought "Oh my, what have a done?" as the pot wasn't any bigger than my original one but... I'm pleased to say it's been over a week and both the original mother plant and the cuttings are thriving! Whew! That's a relief!I'm really glad it's working out because I like the transparent green plastic pots, they're very pretty and enhance the beauty of my plants while making it clear and easy to see when I need to add more water.I used the cotton macramé hangers because I think they look nicer than the chain AND if you do use the chain, you have to install it through the holes on the outer pot. I have found that I can hold my pump sprayer up to those holes and refill the reservoir easily. That probably wouldn't work out if I used the chains.I love the self-watering feature and it's working out well. No longer do I need to stick my finger into the top of the plant to see if it's wet! Hooray! I can tell by looking at my plants, if they look happy and there's still water visible in the planter we are good to go. Easy.I would have preferred, instead of chains for this product to come with S hooks, so hanging the macramé would have been hassle free right out of the box. Instead, I had to search around my garden sheds for the essential S hooks needed to hang these up.Overall, I really like them, and they're doing the job while being quite pleasant to look at. If they came with S hooks they would be 5 stars.

Melphoe thought of everything when they made these plant pots and even included two types of plant hangers, plus 4 cotton wicks for easy watering.Since I need to purchase proper hooks to hang these self-watering pots yet, I took a couple pictures to show that the macramé hangers are not even in length. As you can see, one plant pot hangs 2 inches lower than the other. This is because one macramé hanger measures 31 inches and the other macramé hanger measures 33 inches in length. Actually, I am planning to hang these pots in a staggered fashion, so there is no problem with one macramé hanger being longer than the other. There is another set of hangers included, made of rust proof metal that measure 18 inches from the top of the hook to the bottom of the chain. The chain and hook hangers can be used outdoors as well as indoors since they will not rust.The white and green pots that you see in the pictures of this Amazon listing are made of plastic. The diameter at the top of the pot is 6 inches across and the height of these pots id also 6 inches inside.Inside the 6 inch x 6 inch green and white pots are two white plastic pots where you will actually do your planting. The inner pots allow for 4 inches of water to be added beneath them in the outer pots, so the water will be visible from outside of the pot, and you can easily see when water is running low. Included were four white cotton wicks to be used inside your plant pots. These wicks reach the water below the inside pot and provide wicking from the outer pot into the soil of the inside pot, so you will not have to water your plants for at least two weeks at a time. When you water your pots, you will only need to add water to the outer pots to continue the water wicking process.I really like the versatility of having two styles of plant hangers in case I decide to use these pots hanging on deck posts. In that case, I would choose to hang them with the metal chain and hook hangers. The macramé hangers are very sturdy, and the weave is done very well, and the macramé construction is very strong.On the other hand, the metal plant hangers will serve their purpose just as well. The hooks on the metal hangers are quite large, and since the chains are even on these hangers the pots will hang straight when these hangers are attached.The quality of the plastic pots is good and I like the detail of the vertical lines on the outer pots to add a little more visual interest. Also, since the outer and inner pots are plastic, they will not be so heavy and put a burden on the macramé or the metal hangers.

This is a nice and sturdy planter. It came with two different hanging options. The macrame hanger in the planter and a metal hook chain. I chose to use the macrame for aesthetic reasons. I thought it would be harder to get the plant pot out of the water holder, but its much simpler than expected. I am able to refill the bottom with little trouble. The green is an odd shade, but not a deal breaker.

These are well made and work really good with outdoor plants

The plant hanger pots are super cute. The whole set was easy to setup and the pots are easy to remove to refill with water. Overall, this a great starter set and the green pot is to die for! The green color is so cute.

I am getting into self water pots lately because my plant collection is growing really quickly (ashamed as I bring home another plant). The pots are very functional in allowing you to see the water level and refill as necessary. I like the macrame boho look, although its combination with the plastic pot is just okay. I definitely think this product edges out with its functionality and price, but overall has a bit too much of a “plastic-y” look. I think ceramic pots + macrame would likely be more fitted with the boho aesthetic, but one likely also would lose out on the self water and functionality options.
