I needed a replacement for my son's drum kit as his old pedal was getting old and needed tightening up too many times.This bass durm pedal was perfect for what he needs it for, which is regular practice throughout the week. He says that it works well and the sound is good when he plays the bass drum. Recommended.

This is an adequate kick pedal that will work OK as a replacement or spare, but won’t be an upgrade.It’s sturdy enough, with a somewhat industrial feel. The pedal itself is a very thin metal panel, not exactly comfortable but easy to push against. Other metallic parts are a little less thin, and the whole thing feels durable enough for everyday use.But it’s clunky, it’s stiff, and the spring recoil action isn’t all that satisfying. The immediate release of the pedal is a little bit limp, with the spring loading not quite as strong when the mallet is vertical, but then after that point there’s more resistance to push against. The net result is a foot pedal that’s quite hard work, and just a little bit difficult to control smoothly, for more volume control or double kicks.The price of this pedal is now slightly over twenty quid, but it was slightly under twenty quid when I ordered it; but around twenty quid feels about right, and is not a bad price for the build quality.If you only intend to rock this pedal as hard as it will go, but personally I prefer the smoothness of the pedal that I got this one as a potential replacement for. This one is now the spare rather than the first choice.
