Tango Mike Mike: The Story of Master Sergeant Roy P. Benavidez

Wanted to learn more about Roy Benavidez and stories surrounding his life. Hoping for an "in depth" book detailing stories from his youth to his enlistment in the Army, stories from his brothers in arms, time with Ronald Regan, to life after Vietnam. This book is only a "Brochure" on his life and is a very weak portrayal on who Roy actually was as a person, a soldier, a father, ect.... The Brochure is only 21 pages long and loaded with pictures of his family tree, not the actual man. I bought the book to learn about Roy, not distant relatives that did not even exist when Roy was in Vietnam. I read this book in 5 minutes and learned more about Roy in a YouTube video than this brochure. I have been robbed of my money. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.

VERY short book. Although I enjoyed seeing photos of his past, this book (written by his daughter) was written like a Middle schooler's report on the life of Master Sergeant Benavidez. For the price, I would have passed on it in a brick and mortar bookstore. Disappointed.

As a public school children's librarian, I have many request for military books. This book is a great introduction to an extraordinary man. I think the target audience is perfect for younger children grades 3-6. The content of the book covers his early childhood, education, family, and career - --helping young researchers complete information for a report or young readers just looking for an inspiring book about a positive role model. All of the pictures compliment the text and help tell the story. This book is a great addition to my library. In fact, I bought two copies because I feel like it will be very popular.

Every child in America should read this book and learn about one of our greatest American heroes to ever grace our land.

I ordered two for two of my grandson's birthday.Yvette has done a wonderful job bringing her hero father and his amazing life to kids. Tango Mike Mike is an example of what our kids need to be reading and learning. I'm a history nut and very familiar with the incredible life of Roy P. Benavides and I think it's wonderful that his daughter brought her father's story through her perspective to kids.GREAT BOOK!!!

I should of looked at the reviews. This was more of an article than a book.. I don't fault the writer , she was family. There are many other books about this hero . I will pay more attention next time. Don't waste your money on this particular book use it for the other books on Master Sergeant Benavidez.

I met MSG Benavidez in the mid-80’s in Panama and he graceful accepted and invitation to join my parents and me to dinner. I heard his message about education loud and clear and motivated me to seek higher education as a goal and a few years later I earned a BA and MA from Texas A&M. Rest In Peace my Hero. Tango Mike Mike lives forever..

I've been wanting to learn about soldiers that have received the MEDAL especially Mexican-Americans . This pamphlet does not tell a story ; I want my money back!!!!

A short, yet quite intimate, look into TMM as a man.. not just the soldier. Anyone can read this
