Question 1

Does the silver face up  or down?   The pink looks a bit fuzzy.  I want this to shield my More Counter Space tray and protect it from small cooking appliances that may heat below themselves.

I don't have a good answer for you.  I used this material for my car, I glued the pink side down.  I think that for your application the foil faces the heat source.

Question 2

Mounting a flatscreen above a fireplace.  Thinking of utilizing this to shield against heat from chimney and below .. would this work?

If you are protecting it from the radiant heat coming off of the chimney/exhaust - yes.  This will work very well in terms of blocking nearly all of the radiated heat.  You may have to get creative with mounting/attaching the pad...  I have a wooden chest that sits 5-6" from my wood stove.  Prior to using this pad - i was having to move the chest every time the stove was on full blast or run the stove at lower temps.... This lets me keep it where of is and not worry about or the contents becoming a fire hazard.

Question 3

Is this self adhesive? I’m wanting to protect my refridgerator from my stove with this. How can I adhere this to fridge?

We bought this to protect the side of our frig from the stove right next to it. We used command brand large picture hangers (pretty much strips of Velcro, but they come off easily) on the frig and this heat shield. However, the strips don’t stick well to the foam (shiny silver side should face the heat). So, we used gorilla glue on the foam, to hold the strips on, and it’s holding up well!

will this work on the wall behind a flat ceramic wall heater?

This material as advertised is flame retardant, with that said, I would use insulation that is not susceptible to catching on fire.
