Hoop Dreams: Modern Hand Embroidery

This is a great book! It has helped me so much with learning hand embroidery. I love all the patterns and ideas it comes with and it is written well. The instructions make sense and the pictures are great! I love that it has iron on patterns to help you get started too. I you are new to hand embroidery, I couldn't recommend this enough!

I am beyond thrilled to have this book. So many different projects and activities of all levels. I recently got into embroidery and I am so eager to learn more and finding this book was an absolute gem. There’s iron ons that come with the book and full step by step guides. I also like how clear cut the beginning is. I knew a few things but learned a few things aswell and it was laid out a lot clearer than most books. It was short and sweet to the point.

Fantastic book. It's not only beautifully photographed and laid out, but I am super excited to use the designs. I am a beginner in the world of embroidery, but I'm loving it so far and this book is really helpful. One star off because, as other reviewers mentioned, the "iron-on" transfers in the back are not iron-on. They're just printed on paper. I guess it's nice to have some designs printed on loose paper, but I can easily do that myself with my computer/printer. I was really hoping for iron-on as described so that I wouldn't have to use my light box or a window. I sent the author a message about this issue but have not gotten a response yet.

I bought this used and it is as good as new! So happy with the quality and am looking forward to getting back into embroidery. Thank you.

Bought this for a friend who does embroidery but enjoyed looking through it myself first! Lots of cute, trendy patterns and plenty of instructions about the fundamentals. There were a ton of different project ideas that challenged you to bring your embroidery to other mediums than the traditional fabric wall hanging.

A very nice book and I enjoyed the comments of the author. The designs were very modern and I enjoyed seeing this approach to stitching. I love doing embroidery and follow one other person's designs. Have many items in different stages of completion (or lack of)!

I love my new embroidery book. The steps are easy to follow and perform. Contrary to many of the reviews here the iron on paper works and transfers the image seem measly onto your fabric of choice. I can’t wait to make more designs inspired by this book!

There are a couple of cute designs BUT the title of the book is Hoop Dreams: Modern Hand Embroidery. But for many, maybe even most of the projects, you have to sew or do something else. Not at all what I wanted. And for the Digital version getting the designs is very problematic. Going to return it.

This book is so beautiful and inspiring! I have used it so many times already to learn a stitch or create my own designs. It’s fun to just read or to conjure ideas or to use the patterns. I love it!
