Good camera overall, but difficult setup
For some reason this thing did not like my wifi. I could not get it to connect for the life of me, so I had to hardwire it into my router which wasn’t too bad due to the location of the camera being close to the router anyway. But if it’s not, it could be a problem. I tried everything. I also bought one for my mom, and I couldn’t get it to hook up to her Wi-Fi at all either. I tried all the trouble shooting, looked up YouTube videos, etc. I really tried to get this thing to work. The camera itself worked fine as well as the features. The app works with the camera just fine, other than setup lol.

2.4 wifi finally got it working
This device says you can connect it to 2.4 wifi after trying for two or three hours i found this not be true. I was only able to connect via cable, after connecting I did set up wifi on the device and it still failed to work. *Update*So I figured out how to make it connect to wifi. You may have to repeat the process a few times it didn't work for me till I was literally trying called to return this item. 1st. connect it using the cable. 2nd make sure if you have a dual band modem or router you configure your router and make sure you have the 2.4 & 5 channels formatted so it does not use the strongest channel of the two as a default and reset your modem. 3rd reset the tooge once its powered up. 4th Once its connected and working with phone open up the setting menu in the app (it looks like a nut in the top right corner). 5th open up the wifi setting and connect to the 2.4 channel you already had or made. It will continue to say wifi connecting when it starts saying that unplug the ethernet cable and wait at least 1 minute (if you want give it a little longer). At this point the device should connect or the screen will be frozen. If it does not connect reconnect the ethernet cable and repeat the process from step 3. I did uninstall and reinstall the app once, dunno if that effected anything. They are only getting 3 stars due to horrible instructions and setup, this took me 2 hours to figure out. Also you can swap between a low quality and hd camra, picture is not bad gets a tad grainy when it moves. Other than that works as described.

Won't connect - UPDATED
We got this to keep an eye on our dog while at work. When it arrived we were very excited to set it up and check it out. No instructions came in the box so I looked online and there was a video on how to connect the camera to wifi and the phone. It looked simple to connect, however, none of the options to connect the camera to the phone worked. The camera speaker even claimed many times that it successfully connected to the internet but for whatever reason both my android and my girlfriends iphone could not connect. After 2 hours of trying to get it to connect, we have had enough and will be returning it today. Hopefully, I can find a different camera.Update: After investigating further and trying for a long time to get to connect, I noticed another review said they were told to download the incorrect app and once they downloaded the correct app it connected right away. I'm glad I saw this as in fact, the directions I found online did indeed have the incorrect app listed. You need to use the HapSee Mate app and not just the HapSee app. Once I had the correct app, the camera connected easily. The camera does not have that great of a picture and the noise during listening on the video lags behind the picture, but in all we can keep an eye on our dog and make sure he is not barking during the middle of the day and that is what we wanted this for. If you're looking for a true "security" camera, look else where. If you just want a camera to look and see what your pets are doing and don't care how clear the picture is, this camera is a nice and cheap option.

Works surprisingly well and exactly as I expected.
tl;dr this is a real product that works as expected. if you aren't trying to ball out but you want a camera that does what it should, get this.I was skeptical about this because of the low price compared to other products out there. When I saw that the app that they require you to use had only 5 ratings I got even more skeptical, but I went forward with the set up. Setting it up was easy and everything works really well!I saw that some older comments had issues with it only working on their home wifi, but they either fixed that problem or it was never a problem at all. This has worked for me using data and wifi.I got this so my girlfriend who moved across the country could see our puppy and talk to him whenever she wanted and it is working exactly as planned. Here are the functions that I can confirm this has and work well:- two way sound (press to talk when attempting to speak through the camera)-motion sensing alarm (super loud and obnoxious and scared the crap out of my dog) and/or notifications through the app-ability to move the camera remotely by swiping on the screen when viewing the live feed-screenshots and video recording without paying for extra for cloud memory-the video is clear enough to recognize people from more than 15-20 feet away and has an option for HD (which I think just sharpens the image rather than actually improves the resolution)I do want to say that I haven't played around with the cloud saving options or anything, but the normal screenshot and video recording has been working fine for me. I haven't tried to push the limits of the memory, but you can just save them to your photo gallery on your phone if for some reason you run out of memory.I also have not tried the scheduled recordings because I don't really have a reason to, but I would bet that it works based on all the other functions working as advertised.I also have my roommate and girlfriend using the same account as me and all of our notifications are linked, but you can take separate pictures/videos and watch at the same time. The app shows you how many people are watching at any given time. That being said, I am not sure if you can have one camera on multiple accounts so you can separate your notifications.

Don’t buy
I’ve had this camera for years and have been in love with it until they changed the app. Now I can’t even use the camera because I cannot get it to connect to the internet. Very disappointing.

DO NOT PURCHASE
This camera from day one had issues and was not user friendly. Hard to set up, always logged you out, adding another viewer was difficult but we finally figured it out. A year later it just does not work anymore. Logs out of the wifi, does not recognize the password on one phones app but does on the other. I reached out to them and they said we cannot do a return because they only do them within 30 days of purchase. I responded saying i don’t need a return i want you to troubleshoot my problem. They responded saying they are not the manufacturer and cannot help. I responded saying give me the manufacturers contact info since you sell their product and they said they do not have it. Don’t waste your time with this product. Its poorly made, does not function well and is unreliable and if and when it breaks down within the year they will not care to help you. So many cameras out there not need to be disappointed with this one.

good but not great
Sometimes the movement is sluggish, the two way voice doesn't work well. there is a delay so nothing you say comes through clear. But for just looking in on the dogs it is good enough and gives me piece of mind that they are not eating yet another set of blinds

Good bang for your buck
Great price for what we got. Exactly what we need to check in on our pets during the day when we are away. Love that it connects to wifi and two way audio is fun to be able to chat to them!
