Replaced this just in case it was the cause of burning out the controller board. No problems after installing, after one cooling season.

The soft Amazon bag did not protect the box. The box was crushed and the capacitor out of box. Luckily the capacitor ok! Use a cardboard Amazon box guys!

It was an easy replacement after turning off power and shorting the capacitors, the biggest job was removing the cover screws there as about 12 of them. The Surephon CBB65 was physically a bit larger than the Dometic Duo Therm OEM (2014) capacitor, however there was enough space and pipe strap to complete the replacement without modification. The functional test was successful had no problems starting the fan and condenser and was cooling in a very short time. I'm happy with the purchased and bought a second one in case my other RV AC fails.

Decided to start regularly testing my HVAC capacitors after my ECM blower motor failed and took 1k away from my bank account (not sure if the built-in capacitor was the issue but it got me thinking).I purchased a Klein CL390 to check for capacitance on both my capacitors in my outside unit (herm and fan). I should note I only use this dual run Surephon for the compressor side while I use a separate capacitor for my fan. My fan is an aftermarket part and needs 5uf, not 10uf. Since I also need a 2.5 inch cylinder capacitor to fill the hole punched out in my control box, I just buy this 45+10 for the herm side and keep a 2nd 5uf capacitor for the fan.Back to the review of the Surephun. The part itself was a near replacement to the previous capacitor I bought at a local HVAC shop (one of the few that sells to customers) 2 yrs ago for $65 + gas and travel time. They were both Surephon 45+10, but the old one was 440VAC where this one is 370/440VAC. All else was the same.After 2 yrs of heavy use (I live in Texas and keep my AC at 67°f - 72°f even when its 100°f+ outside) the capacitance on the original part was 43.6mf (42.5 is the low side of the +/- 5%). For $17 on Amazon I decided to proactively go ahead and just replace it.If this $17 part lasts 2-3 years under heavy stress, high ambient temps, helps keeps my compressor operating efficiently, and keeps my family and pets cool year round I will call it a win.I recommend this part from Amazon! Good price and FAST delivery.
