These are of very solid construction. I have a small shop so I am using these as a platform for my drill press and vise mounted to a receiver bolted to a wall. That way I can remove them when not being used to conserve space on my work bench. These are heavy enough to allow me to use whena lot of force without having them flex or give--especially when using the vise. I can also insert them into the receiver on my truck, using a generator or power pack for the drill press, on jobs where I don't have access to a rwwhenhenegular 120v outlet.

I chose this one based on the quality of the welding and finish in the pictures. That was a mistake. The welds were inconsistent. Beads were undercut. One important bead was missing. If I was a quality control guy at the manufacturer, this thing never would have made it out the door. The finish was good though. The design also leaves room for improvement. If the bottom half of the tube were extended about 2" into the underside of the plate, the assembly would be more impervious to upward or downward forces. But, all that being said, for $22, I'll take it & just fix the welds, & add a gusset myself. At least the mounting holes lined up well. It's worth what they charged for it, but quite frankly, it's an unfinished product as I received it. It could be used for lite duty work as is, but that's not how winches usually get used.
