These are the droids.... I mean inline skates I was looking for.
Great Rollerblades. I bought these after using a pair of softshell rollerblades and the difference was extremely noticeable. To start with: I am a 6'01", 50 year old, 260 pound male wearing a size 12. I am not fat, just big, like a bear and I wanted to have a pair of inline skates that would be strong enough to support my size and allow freedom of movement, while keeping the rail and the wheels in line under my foot. I found while using the soft shell the rails and wheels would tend to lean to the inside and when doing crossover turns I could feel the rail shifting from the inside to the outside of the wheel. It was a sight bow when turning and I could manage with it, but when applying speed it would cause a loss of balance and a "wobbly" feeling. While watching videos about improving my abilities I found one that was saying to move from the soft shell to the hard shell and I spent a couple weeks watching reviews for the different inline skates available on the market. After a while I decided I wanted to get an official pair of Rollerblades, as all the retail reviews said they had some of the best manufacturing and quality. While looking over the different models I settled on the Lighting, due to the hard shell, the aluminum rail, the color option (the black and green is great and it looks awesome under a blacklight) and I found multiple sources online swearing by them. The problem, they never seemed to have size 12's in stock.... One day I was on and I found that 2 pairs were available and by the time I refreshed the site, one pair was left. So I screamed "Take my money" and threw cash at the screen... Anyway, the order said it would be about a week to get in and they arrived early. The box was beaten up and it looked like it had been fed to a dog, however; the skates inside were flawless. Not a scratch on them... New, with all accessories and tags. I was thrilled. I tried them on and they fit perfectly, snug because the liner was not broken in, but the length and width were right on the money. When laced up and latched the skates were great. They locked onto my foot, provided great support and kept the wheels and rails directly under my feet. I took the skates to the roller ring and the wheels glided like butter. I gained speed with less effort and found that I almost fell going off the ring and onto the carpet since the wheels moved about twice as fast as I expected. I remained on location skating for about 6 hours and I noticed I has a few spots on my lower legs that rubbed, but I was not wearing thick socks and I was hard skating till I was out of breath... in brand new skates that had not been broken in; so I am compelled to say this was user error and not a design flaw. I can say that I had to relearn my balance since the wheels were lined up directly under my feet, but that only took about 20 minutes to get the feel for it. I can say I gained a great deal of control in turning, crossing over and going backward. These skates are extremely responsive and everything on them feels right. I felt like I had better control, the wheels held great grip on highspeed turns, and I never felt like my ankles or feet were not supported while moving. Overall; these skates were exactly what I was looking for. Outstanding design.

Awesome Rollerblades
Couldn't be happier with these skates. First Rollerblades since I hung up my Lightning TRS skates in 1996. These skates make it feel like I haven't missed a day. Bigger wheels and stiffer frame gets more speed and responsiveness. Sizing was spot on using the recommended measuring - toes just barely brush against the front of the liner and I expect them to pack out just a bit just like snowboard or ski boots do. The appear as well or better crafted than the skates they made 30 years ago, so I was pleased to see that, I have no concerns about the durability of these skates. They also come with replaceable skid plates on the sides of the boots, very nice add on that will extend the life of the boot shells, that was one area that always got torn up on the older skates. The price on Amazon was about $50 less than anywhere else, so the value for the money was a big bonus as well. Rollerblade went just a little bit heavy on the lime coloring on the Rollerblade Lightning 80's so I was planning on swapping out the lime green laces for some plain blacks, and the wheels will have to be replaced at some point but otherwise they're great looking, very comfortable, very functional skates. The only real con I have for them is that the two memory buckles combined with the laces makes a little bit of a birds nest when you're trying to get everything cinched up, but not a big deal. the combination of the laces and micro adjustable memory buckles makes for a very secure fit.

Great skates!
I got these to replace my Rollerblade Macroblade 90s. The Lightning are great skates overall and the perfect upgrade for a beginner going to intermediate level skater. Very comfortable boot, much more comfortable than the soft boot of the Macroblades, way more support. My foot isn't constantly fighting to grab on to something. With these the skate feels like part of my foot, a feeling that gives me a lot of confidence and allows me to relax more and actually enjoy the ride. Its a smooth ride, but I do miss the speed of the 90mm wheels, these take a little bit more push to gain speed and lose momentum a lot faster than the bigger wheels but offer more stability and control which is an ok trade off. They really look better in person than in photos, I initially thought the color was a little too much, but once I saw them in person, realized it was just perfect. I am a woman with a shoe size of 8.5 and due to other reviews here I bought the 8 mens size since some reviews said it ran small. This proved to be true as the mens 8 with the footboard liner fits perfectly for me. If I had ordered my size (mens 7) It would have probably been a bit too tight. Great experience overall and the seller delivered just as advertised, brand new in the box with all original tags etc. right on time. These is a really great purchase at this price point since the boot is very good quality, the wheels are good and it comes with a removable frame which will allow for upgrades down the road.

Blades for life❤️🔥
I am a 36yr old, 5'3 Female. I loves these blades. The look super cool and good color match. The adjustable straps are good and doesn't come undone. It's super cushioned around the ankles. My foot measures 25cm size 7, so I ordered a size 8 as the other reviews suggested because they were too tight. They fit so well and the heel break was easy to install. I haven't had rollerblades in years since I was in highschool. I did however take the insoles out due to them hurting my feet, but once I did they felt super comfortable. I even made a 550 cord strap to go with them so it would be easier to carry them around when I'm out and about and have to transition back to normal shoes.

Not much more you could ask for
I will admit this is rather premature review as they have not been broken in from the 1 mile I rode so far. But from the very first time I put these on they fit like a glove. It's been many years since the days where I used to bomb hills, but they are very responsive. Strap in and they are a high quality experience.

Good all around
I own several different brands and types of inline skates but these have quickly and easily become my favorite, hard boot is great and allows you to really control the edges while the memory buckles help by not needing to muck around with it every time you want to find the right comfort level. Easy to carve and even comes with a brake (not that you need it, but good for beginners). Would recommend to anyone wanting to start out.

Very good quality, would definitely recommend for beginners
When I first wore these they were comfortable and provided excellent ankle support, they weren’t too heavy which was great. I was worried that the shoes would arrive too small as stated in the other reviews but they fit me just fine. Would definitely recommend!
