I'm a documentary filmmaker by trade who usually uses several manual DSLR cameras to shoot interviews, however, I started a podcast with a friend and found my pro kit was super cumbersome to manage and maintain while also being on camera. This lil' guy was the answer. It's a wide enough angle and high enough quality that it can get all three of us in the shot and I can zoom into whomever is talking in post without losing quality. Also nice is that I could attach my existing wireless lav and use for our guest so I don't pick up too much noise. I still use a H4N with two wired lavs for host audio, but honestly the shotgun mic provided in this kit is probably fine for casual production. It comes with a light attachment that has a bight, warm, and cold setting which is cool for different effects - and all of the attachments are chargeable by USB-C. My only complaint would be that the hot shoe accessories included (light and shotgun mic) don't have an additional hot shoe on top of them to stack another accessory - but that's probably not an issue a casual video camera user cares about. All in all this lil' guy cut my set-up time down by more than half and because it has a 360 degree view screen and a remote, I didn't need to be behind the camera to hit stop and record. Bonus, it records on SD cards which makes it easy to transfer footage (it also apparently plugs right into a computer to record straight to hard drive or livestream, but I haven't tried those.) I haven't used it for much outside of attaching it to a pair of sticks for podcasts but its easy, lightweight, small, and fairly inexpensive enough that this camera is probably going to make onto the packing list for family vacations or projects I can do with the kids.

UPDATE: The seller got to me immediately and fixed the issue I had with this camera initially. Without doubt the seller showed excellent customer service and helped me figure out what happened and cleared the issue for me. I liek the resolution of the camera and I think it will do fine for what I use it for. I will be much more diligent in placement and making sure it is recording. I have figured out the setting and although they are a bit different than I am used to, I am sure I can work it out well. Great Kudos to the seller for getting me going again. Original Review. After one hour of recording or thinking I was recording since it showed the red light on, I went to check my video and edit it to find the card completely empty. I also had a slight mishap and the camera tipped over on the tripod and landed on its side scratching the viewfinder, but then I found the viewfinder will not close completely now. I know it fell, but it was not a huge crash fall, but for such a simple fall it did enough damage the camera will probably not close completely now. I still have no idea why it did not record anything after all that time. I did notice it shuts itself off rather quickly and is not the easiest to get to the settings which are limited at best. It was cheap and I guess that is what you get for cheap. I will not buy again and I do not recommend to anyone unless you want to keep it in your hand all the time and babysit it.

Works great for what I want

I will give it a 2 because it does actually turn on and record video and take photos. BUT IT IS NOT AS ADVERTISED. There is no Infrared Night Vision, as they claim. There is nothing in the menu to activate night vision either; and furthermore, there is not one single spot in the instruction manual that speaks about it having night vision. Nothing about infrared either. The advertisement for infrared night vision was my whole reason for purchasing the camera. The video quality is terrible. Very grainy! I am SO disappointed! My granddaughter wants to be an astronaut and we were going to use this to record the comet. Now, Im not so sure it would even be able to zoom in on it, because though it says it is 18x zoom, it is not. My phone camera does a better job at zooming in, with only a 10x zoom! I feel like I'm using tech from the 70's with this thing! So very disappointed.

Not as advertised. No memory card, only one battery, no separate charger, no fill in light. So far not impressed.
