The easy rider of all choppers
This thing is the culinary 'bomb'! if your knife skills are a bit lacking. It basically works like a stapler which pushes veg through a cutting grid into an integral container. Two cutting grids provide coarse or fine chopping.Yes it is slightly fiddly to clean but comes with a little 'comb' to assist with this.It also appears so far to be dishwasher safe.Simply peel your vegetables and get them into reasonable sized 'lumps' ready for cubing/slicing and away you go. A genuine time saving device which means you can get your hard vegetables softening in the pan and gradually add others as your recipe requires. I have successfully tried onions, shallots, courgette, carrots, peppers, pickled mustard leaves and celery.I see no reason why it wouldn't work with tomatoes providing they are reasonably firm. There is a need to consider what way you stand the vegetables on the cutting surface(e.g vertical segments of celery, courgette) but this thing appears to be strong enough to wack it down on most veg with no problem.Buy one - it will provide you with a very quick way to produce a meal using proper fresh, healthy vegetables.

very good cutter worth the price
this cutter works extremely well on potatoes and on softer things like cooked vegetables. it will also work well on hard vegatables like carrots and onions if you cut them inot smaller pieces and run them through one piece at a time ( which actually doesnt take that long ). I have found you can use it to cube them if you collect the chip shaped pieces that come out and run them through again.very good productprobably better than lever based cutters which in my view dont make much sense physically.only thing I would have wanted is a third cutter size for something like potato wedges.those having trouble with the amount of force being too high its probably coz of 2 reasons related to incorrect use1. if something catches on the side as it goes through you are going to need to hammer it to go through. make sure what you want to cut is smaller than the width of the cutter. another important point is to ensure the vegetable goes through at the right angle if the angle is awkward thats when it twists as it goes through. this would obviously increase the force needed to push it through. 90 degree angle orientation is best2 dnt try to cut huge things in one go. if the lever contacts the potato after only 10 degrees of motion relative to its starting point at the top of its motion, obviously its going to get stuckthus with proper use this thing is a joy to usedefinitely recommend

Good bit of kit but be careful not to use too vigorously!
This is great; I use it frequently for onions/garlic, is also great for carrots/sultanas/nuts when making carrot cake (far, far easier than grating the carrots). 10-15 seconds of bashing chops into ~3mm cubes quite easily. However, I was going for it with some carrots and the mechanism jammed somehow - and cracked the transparent circular surround. It's still useable, I just have to ensure I grip it firmly where it's cracked so the crack doesn't propogate further, and make sure I don't just whack the top - start off slowly and it's fine.

Doesn't just chop onions
This is a great onion chopper and also works very well on other vegetables. Note: onions are best cut in half, use large cutter for large onions and small cutter for small onions. So far I've used it on onions, carrots, potatoes, leeks, peppers and chilis, which have to be cut into portions that fit on the cutter, obviously. It took a little time to clean out after I cut the chilis, for which I used the point of a knife rather than the little comb, which is a bit too flimsy. Otherwise great product. It's sturdy and the cutters are sharp and it saves a lot of time and tears in case of the onion, which is why I bought it in the first place. I can thoroughly recommend this product.

Chips too small
Was easy to do small potatoes but the chips are too small more like French fries

In a word.....FAB!!!!
Don't hesitate to buy this. It is very strong, sturdy and well made. It dices veg into lovely little cubes. Works wonders for beetroot! I have just made bowl of diced salad -1 onion1 red pepper1/4 cucumber1 whole steamed beetrootdrizzle honey and mustard dressingpinch salt and pepperWas a delight to make AND eat.Cleaning is easy - rinse under the tap. For any food stuck in the dicer section it comes with a little red tool that scrapes it out!BUY BUY BUY!!!!

Awful, don't buy!
I don't very often leave bad reviews, but this product is truly awful! It takes 10 seconds to chop an onion, then 20 mins to clean the gadget. It also feels flimsy, like it would break very. easily. I don't know what the smaller blades use would be, as it will only cut really soft fruits, and then it turns it into mush, and you have the 20 mins cleaning routine. I was going to give it to charity, but I'm sending it back, as I wouldn't want to inflict it on anyone! I've since bought a different brand, which has a small detachable plate, just slide off to clean it, a much better design.

Just perfect for dicing Indian Salad
I’ve been searching for something to reduce time in prepping my India salad and this seems to work very well. I still have to quarter and deseed the tomatoes and cucumber and partially prepare the red onion but this finishes off perfectly. I always also skin and thin slice the mooli radish and this dices perfectly. It also has an abundance or very finely chopped chillis, coriander and fresh lime juice but this prep doesn’t change. It’s a shame there wasn’t a size between the small and larger chunky cutter, but I can live with it. My experiment was large cutter for the tomato skins and small for the others.
