Novelty light
This is a fun novelty light that projects images of nebulae and stars , the nebula comes in 3 colours red, green and blue and can be displayed in any combination of these colours, the stars only display in green. The nebula can either be static or animated, in the animated mode it appears to rotate and swirl, the stars can be made fade in and out. You can set the brightness of both stars and nebula from one of 5 different settings. The unit also comes with a timer function which will shut it down after either 45 or 90 minutes. It comes with a nicely made remote control but you will need to supply your own batteries, it takes 2 AAA batteries. The unit itself needs to be plugged into a USB socket to work and also has controls built into the astronaut's backpack so you don't actually need to use the remote if you don't want to.The unit generally works as expected but it does have some quirks, firstly when the nebula is set to animated it can occasionally jump and jitter a bit which doesn't look great, this usually happens just after changing one of the settings and doesn't seem to last long before settling down again. The movement of the astronaut's head (which acts as the projector) is limited by the short length of the cable that comes out of the backpack. The light from the projector is very bright and the manual advises you not to look directly at it as it may damage your eyes, so I wouldn't advise this for use by young children. The manual also warns you that the green laser that produces the star light can overheat after some time and needs to be shut down for 15 minutes in order to fully cool down.Overall this is a nice little light but it's not perfect and you do need to be a little bit careful with it.

Cute Little Guy
The Astronaut Galaxy Projector is a lovely experience for children and adults. There are a lot of different functions which you can change using the remote control provided. I especially like that you can set a timer and fall asleep to the galaxy above your head! I found the green lights a little annoying at times so was happy to discover you can turn them off or set them to fade in or out.The astronaut’s head can be moved around until you can get the lights in the right position. This cute little guy has already provided a lot of entertainment and I will continue to use it purely for the soothing effects alone while drifting off to sleep.
