Interactive Baby Gupi - Robotic Guinea Pig Toy Furry animal clap function

Don't waste your money. I very rarely write reviews but there are things you need to know about this! It's cute for about 10 minutes but it does not make lifelike guineapig noises - more screeching and terrifying noises than contented little squeaks. It doesn't particularly look like a guineapig, more a hamster, but I could see that in the picture and still got it anyway hoping it might be fun. You need the patience of a saint and a screwdriver... There's no means of switching it off! I thought it might be a bit annoying having to take batteries in and out but not once does it say you have to have a miniature screwdriver to unscrew 2 small screws to access the battery compartment and then have to re-screw it without the batteries in, when not in use (unless you want to risk losing the 2 small screws). It's very fiddly and frustrating, but if you don't do this the batteries will just die really quickly or it will jump to "life" out of the blue. Also, it mainly just "runs" or "wheels" itself in circles. Mine doesn't respond to the "clap" suggestion either. Very disappointed and would not recommend. Will only get used on rare occasions due to the battery issue. I can't keep screwing and unscrewing the underneath rather than pressing an "off" button or just unclipping the batteries from a compartment.

I bought this as a joke for my partner, who loves Guinea Pigs but can't have real ones at the moment. It's not particularly well made, with the 'fur' coming away from the plastic body even before use, it doesn't look much like a Guinea Pig, the noises it makes are not very realistic, and the lack of an off button can drive you mad, especially as it's quite difficult to get to the battery compartment. Despite all these points, Baby Gupi is still absolutely adorable! It interacts with the environment well, even sensing when it is stuck on the carpet, and it makes very cute noises when it bumps into things! I would recommend watching some videos of it online prior to purchase to see whether it is something you think you can put up with! Although it can get annoying, and is quite touch-sensitive, with slight movements waking it up, it requires a very loud noise to wake up, so putting it in a box out the way will keep it quiet.

I generally don't write bad reviews - I prefer to contact the seller and work something out that way, IE refund or replacement. In this case, it's not worth refunding or replacing. It was just meant as a fun add-on gift for my girlfriend who can't have a real Guinea pig. There was no mention was type of batteries are required, which turns out to be AAA, so I bought the wrong batteries with it for starters. Furthermore, you need a minuscule screwdriver to actually put the batteries in, something that isn't mentioned either. Lastly, the one I received only makes the squeaky noices, it won't run or react to the claps. People, save your £5 and the disappointment.

Good fun toy with sensor , only downside is there is no off switch and as it reacts to noise it's constantly switching on. Two sets of batteries in two days! Need a sound proof box to keep it in!!

My little nieces loved it. You get what you pay for though. After a few hours the noises stopped and have never come back and we had to reglue the fur and nose. Great fun whilst it lasts!

Lovely lively little fella, he will give anyone the run around. Great fun for kids and adults alike, and house trained!! Great product, fast delivery and reasonable price. Very pleased.
