I really really like this book. It's the first time I have ever used a book which is all in French. There is not a word of English in it. So that means, when you have to do the exercises, that you have to engage your whole brain to hunt around on the page for clues to the answers. It is very artfully put together - they never ask you a question that isn't answered somewhere in the text but sometimes you have to do a bit of detective work, or just read around the page to find the answer. And so, in that way, it models the sort of thing you have to do in the real world if you ever go to France - using your whole brain in a detective sort of way to make sense of what is around you. It's very clever.

Used as recommended text for French course. Contains sufficient breadth to facilitate significant progression over at least two academic years.

Very decent book

Did not come with audio CDs or MP3 code. very disapointed

I had to buy this for a course, but I don't like it at all for private study. It's written completely in French, even the grammar section. Some people may prefer this, but as a beginner I'd have preferred some guidance and explanation in English.
