Expensive grommets but well worth the price. Excellent grip and perfect sizing.
These are great rubber grommets if you are running any sort of dutch bucket bato buckets or dwc systems. I purchased these to build a diy system that I saw on a website using 10 gallon plastic totes on my deck. I used about 18 of these to build an eight tote system that housed 16 pepper plants. They are all doing great and producing well. The rubber is very high quality. They were not cheap and quote expensive when compared to the others. As a gardener who has used many of these before I can say with confidence that these are quite possibly the best so far. No leaks whatsoever. I used both PVC and even regular rainbird drip irrigation 1/2 inch supply lines and the rubber grips them well without a single leak. The hole needs to be exactly one inch so use a clean drill bit and file down any rough spots. The grommet holds on and slides in easier with a little oil. I used a touch of coconut oil to ease them in, in many buckets I didnt even need any. Its held up really well so far for about four weeks now in the hot sun without any signs of damage. I used the remaining ones on 5 gallon food grade buckets where it worked perfectly. The grommet is well worth the price.

Does the job
Like stated with all other reviews, use a 1 inch hole saw. Better than any other grommets that I've purchased in the last 2 years.

Easy secure seal for water lines.
Just arrived yesterday. Product count correct in easy access zip type bag. Looks like a no brainer for insertion to hole cut 1" to accept 1/2" pipe. Good feel to grommet, very malleable to insert into material as well as for pipe passage. Has an extra collar to firmly encircle pipe for a tight seal. Easy application for air lift pump or for water movement between tanks. Good choice for tension spots where glues and sealers might spring a leak. Thanks Hydrofarm. Comes in a 3/4" pipe size also. Well made grommets.
I've used these grommets in my buckets in my hydroponic greenhouse to recycle the nutrient solution. They are easy to place in 5 gallon buckets and they don't leak.

These will hold in that which you don't wish to lose.
Specifically, I use these Hydrofarm Rubber Grommets, outside, in (22) Alaska Grow Buckets. They're all in their 3rd season with no leaking. (Not bad in this Texas heat.)Drill the hole size in your recepticle, per instructions. A bit of vaseline on the grommets makes it easier to seat them.I can't recall the size of pipe these grommets cater to. But, when it becomes time to place the pipe into the grommet, do yourself a favor, (if you have a shop grinder; great), grind off some of the pipe so that the pipe is reduced in diameter, at a taper for about 3/4 of an inch from the end of the pipe. You will now find it possible to insert the pipe through the grommet. (Use the vaseline again.)Good fortune to you.

These are great for waterproof ports in the sides of plastics like a bucket or container. I have seen others recommend a maximum size 1 1/8" hole, however, I found that to be a little bit loose. I recommend drilling a 1" hole, that way it's very snug and wont leak. Also, I tried many different hole saws and drill bits on a junk bucket first. What I found to be the ABSOLUTE BEST way to drill a perfect hole was with one of these Forstner Bits. If you want a clean hole, the right size, the first time -- then don't waste your time and potentially ruin your material. Go buy one of these Forstner Bits and you'll be so glad you did! Great rubber grommets!

Perfect for sealing
Bought 1 pack last spring. I will be needing some more for my RDWC hydroponic system this spring. So I Ordered them, a Very slight difference from the last batch. used same hole saw as last time, Plug was very very tight, PVC would not go through at all. Had to take dremal sander to just make it slightly bigger. Maybe 1/8" bigger hole, not an issueYes will buy it again,

These work
These are perfect for DIY dutch buckets. We run 1/2 inch pvc in them. We used a 1 inch hole saw and it was the perfect fit.

I used these with 3/4 inch barbed fitting like the recommended comments
I used these with 3/4 inch barbed fitting like the recommended comments, been using them in a hydro system project I've been working on for about a month now and works like a charm. Had a hard time finding something that works well, leak-proof, and doesn't cost 10x the price. Great Product. Will buy again for my next project ! Thank You Hydrofarm.

Quality grommet
This is a very high quality grommet and exactly as shown. I wanted it to fit a drain I made in a raised garden bed to convert it into a wicking bed. It fitted perfectly and I have no leakage around the drain since filling the bed.

Great Grommets
I use these grommets to insert 1/2" PVC pipe through plastic pails. The rubber is flexible enough to form a tight seal around the pipe. The grommets fit perfectly and do not leak. There isn't much to rate a grommet on, it either works or it doesn't lol
