Great Shorts
You can’t go wrong with Columbia shorts. I bought these for my husband and he absolutely loves them. He wears them in the water and as regular shorts. They are perfect to just throw on and go. For reference, my husband is 5”6 and weighs around 175. I purchased him a size medium with a 6 inch inseam and the fit is just what he needed!

Quality Bathing Suit with Some Drawbacks
I should begin by noting that Amazon initially shipped this suit in the wrong size (XXL) and replaced it with the correct one (M) after I contacted customer service. As you would expect from Columbia, this is a quality swimsuit. The polyester is soft, pliable, and lightweight (unlike "stiff" bathing suit fabrics). The sizing is accurate: Medium fits my 33" waist perfectly. The suit seems well-made and has a nice appearance. There are a few potential drawbacks. The inner liner is soft, but the leg openings are on the small side, so if you have larger upper thighs you may be bothered by the snugness (though this may loosen over time). Having a zippered back pocket is a plus, but only if you're right-handed, since the pocket is on the right. I'm not wild about having the drawstring on the outside of the suit rather than the inside, though this is not uncommon. I'll also mention that this isn't the most stylish bathing suit I've worn; I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about the cut that makes this suit appear more "blocky" than others I own.I can't comment on the suit's sun protection feature because it's not yet summer here in the northeast USA.Bottom line, if you're right handed, don't have thicker legs, and aren't picky about style, I would recommend this suit. For everyone else it's still probably a solid choice despite the drawbacks I mentioned.

Too expensive
These look great and have no cosmetic defects so props to them for building something nice. But wow, are these ever basic. They really are just polyfabric with a really funky-fitting loose mesh liner. They almost feel like they're fitted for someone wearing a diaper? I guess if you have incontinence pants these will be a perfect summer short, because they look fantastic, and no one's going to know you have trust issues with yourself.Yeah, if I paid full price for these I would be pretty upset. These feel like they'd be $15-$20 at Costco.

Good shorts usual Columbia PFG quality
I've been buying summer bathing suits and board shorts from Columbia for almost 2 decades. They are a solid option that never disappoints and these are no exception. Great material and color.

Stylish
They're fantastic. These shorts are perfect for any water-related activity, whether it's fishing, swimming, or just lounging by the pool. The material is lightweight and quick-drying, making them incredibly comfortable to wear, even when wet. Plus, the built-in UPF 50 sun protection is a huge bonus for those long days outdoors. The fit is true to size, and I love the range of colors available. Overall, I couldn't be happier with these shorts, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable pair for their summer adventures.

nice swimshorts
I have a few Columbia swim shorts and these fit and feel the same. I have a 36" waist and the size Large fits fine, with an inch or so to spare. The material is stretchy enough to squat in without binding or bunching up. The pockets are nice to have, though I don't use them beyond temporarily holding my car key and wallet. They're not very deep or secure and I'm always checking that stuff didn't fall out. The single back pocket has a zippered closure. I haven't figured out how to use this pocket on any of my swim shorts, but I guess it's good to have. The only nitpick is the price - $45 seems steep for what it is.
