HeiLSound HTH-K Heil Handi Talkie Headset for Kenwood/Baofeng/Wouxon Handheld transceivers

I got this headset after seeing Heil talking about microphones on the web. I was impressed by his explanations of what makes a good mike. I am using it with a Baofeng UV82-HP. The built-in mike on the HT was described as "harsh." I used Audacity to record a webstream of my transmision and I could see that it modulated much better, Reports from others on the repeater would good. One quirk is that the UV 82 is a dual band transeiver and the HTH has only one PTT. The PTT on the headset for some reason switches the transmitter to the B band, so if you want to use the headset's PTT, you'll need to switch to B band.I also wear hearing aids, so I wanted a headset that sits against my ear without enveloping it. This one works fine for that purpose.

Bought for use with WLN KD-C1 radios. Works well! Much better quality than the "economy" headsets I currently had. Spending $30+ on a headset seems to actually make a difference. The PTT feels solid and the PTT lapel clip is metal with a grippy rubber "shoe" and a strong spring.The only non-positive comment I have is that with many (about half?) of my WLN radios you really have to push the headset connector in *hard* in order to make a good contact. (Press the connector in all the way until it stops moving, then squeeze *hard* once more.) None of my other microphones / headsets have this issue with the WLNs so I'm thinking something in the combination of the Heil and the WLN is right up against design tolerance. It works well once you are sure the connector is well and truly seated.Also works great with my BTECH UV-5X3 without any issue.

I use this on public service missions with my Baofeng UV 8. Excellent sound quality, comfortable, and convenient. It doesn't work on the Baofeng UV8HD and neither does my microphone but works well with my Btech DMR 6x2.

Product works exactly as advertised. Received package a few days earlier then expected.

I bought this so I can hear my radio better without bothering my wife. It works great in the house and in the car.

make a baofeng sound like a kenwood - will be buying more heil stuff!!!!

Great build quality, great sound especially when you consider the price!

Light weight, easy to wear, works well. Very happy with this product.
