A really lovely surprise and delight to listen to!
I came across this CD while searching for some "new" acoustic guitar music. I had never heard anything from Joe Scott before, had no idea if I'd like his playing/music. But I was so very pleasantly surprised! He's a terrific musician and composer. He has a delicate touch to provide that rare subtlety I never can get enough of in guitar music. The only tune that didn't thrill me was "Bonny Portmore", just a bit too heavy and a little depressing. All the others were wonderful. Very much loved his version of "Ashokan Farewell". Highly recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys acoustic guitar and traditional folk music.
