Pretty little light up globe for your desk, shelf, or nightstand if you want to use as a nightlight. I don't think I'd use it for young children as it is a heavy glass/crystal that can be thrown to cause some significant damage or shatter on a floor, but for an adult or teenager, it would be good. The description is accurate, even though I thought it would be slightly larger, but that's on me. The light up base is fairly bright, borderline too bright. The plug is a usb-a plug and the package does not include a wall outlet plug, so you need to use an adaptor. Luckily those are more common, but if you are thinking a gift for an older person that isn't big on electronics, then it might not go over well unless you also got a wall plug adaptor. The crystal etchings of the planet seem to be fairly accurate, but do not include smaller islands, so major only. Overall, it's pretty and looks nice
