Polish Symphonies of the Eighteenth Century

One of the advantages of being alive today is that there is rarely a piece of music so obscure that someone has not bothered to record it. Here are some rather lovely Polish compositions from 18th Century. Not quite Haydn or Mozart, but wonderfully done and played by this excellent Warsaw ensemble. There was a time when composers were asked to do little more than to entertain if they were to hold on to a court job. Few are remembered. More the wonder then that Mozart and Beethoven were always pushing the envelope.
